Couple of tips we use when watching the show at the Aqua theater:

Indeed get there early, and indeed center area is the best for views.

We bring a folded beach towel each to sit on.  Sometimes those hard wooden bench seats can be uncomfortable after awhile, and sometimes they are wet (depending on weather, splashing, and previous cleaning).

On the way out, we take the side stairs up to the rock climbing area, then down the hallway of deck seven cabins to work our way back to avoid the masses going through Boardwalk.

Ooh great tips! I'm jotting these down 😄

  2. I'm on this sailing as well!

I've also never done my time dining, so can't speak to that I'm afraid.

You don't need reservations for the slides or zipline. We were just on the Mariner and did the slides as soon as they opened on boarding day. It was nice to do those while folks were still getting on the ship.

About a monthish before sailing the daily schedules will populate in the app. You can glance through to see when these open each day and see if that might be a good time to stop by then (ie, no other must-do activity happening at the same time).

That's also when you can book reservations for the shows!

In Roatan, I booked a private tour with Victor Bodden. He had lots of good reviews in the Roatan board.

In Costa Maya, we'll only be there until 2pm so we're just going to stay at the port and hang out at one of the pools, probably the one near the exit as it's quieter. We'll be the only ship there so it should be a nice day and not too crowded! (I was there on Mariner with Icon and Enchantment and it was pretty busy). When we were there we also visited the Aviary which was cool. I also got a massage at the spa in the port area and it was great!

Oh great thanks. Was he/she any good? Hope you had a great cruise.

His name is Luca and was good! We didn't spend as much time there as we usually do, but enjoyed his music.

There was also a talented and entertaining piano player in Schooner if you want to mix it up some nights. (I'm blanking on his name. I remember Luca because I have a little one named Luke, lol)

  4. Earlier tonight my husband asked what if they ban entry from cruise ships, even if there's no one positive on board. Then the travel ban from Europe was announced a little bit ago.

This sucks. A year ago we booked our first back to back which leaves next Sunday. It's our 10 year anniversary too. But, since we have 2 little ones who we're leaving home with my parents it's probably best to cancel. Siiiiiigh.

This repair had been scheduled for quite sometime, so it is not due to any engine going down.

In fact we were on the Oasis three weeks ago and she was sailing just fine.

I hadn't heard about the scheduled repair, but we just got off the Oasis yesterday and I agree that it was sailing fine. Maybe a little more rocking the last 2 days, but nothing out of the ordinary.

  6. My husband (fiance at the time) was summoned about a week before our wedding and honeymoon cruise. He was selected and after 3 days they ended up with a plea deal. I said it was too bad that after during there and listening to everything you just... leave without any kind of vote.

  7. I once had my victim of a crime subpoenaed for her own case. She called the court and they said, "sorry you have to show up."

When we both got there she told me she had been subpoenaed to sit on her own jury. I told her, "Oh don't worry they probably won't even call you."

Well guess who was the 5th name called? Not sure it had anything to do with it, but after a short recess the defendant plead guilty.

    😮 whaaaaat

  8. I'm looking into Eli's Eco Tour which looks nice. I started looking up what the ship has to offer and I found a "Catamaran, snorkel, and beach" tour for about half the price. That one is 3 hours, and I'm not sure how long Eli's tour lasts.

Has anyone taken the RC excursion? How was it? I know the ship excursions tend to be crowded, but I've had good luck with smaller groups in the past.
