  1. These kind of questions about the upgrade process are really pointless IMO. For example, if your bid is higher than average I assume NCL will accept your bid (lock it in) sooner, rather than later. If your bid is low, they'll wait as long as they can for higher bids.

My bid was accepted in about a week and I made the minimum bid.

  2. Hello! Why to pay before March 31st? If your are booked by March 31st, then you have to option to pay the gratuity prices at the current rate prior sail date.

In my case, I booked in December and intend to pay end of May, prior June sail date.

I actually spoke to NCL in regards to this, because I had not paid my surcharges yet. I sail on 4/22. I was told if I pay by 3/31 It will be at the $13.99 rate. If I pay on 4/1 or later it will be at the current rate, which as of 4/1 will be $14.50. If they have another increase before you sail, you will pay at whatever the current rate is on the day you are actually paying.

  3. Has anyone ever gotten their bid accepted if they are within the poor/fair range? I am pretty certain we won't....but just wondering;) if it's even possible. My guess is on a huge ship, in summer, not likely.:) Thank you!
I made the minimum bid of $75, and went from an aft inside to a mid-ship balcony. We are on the Epic (huge ship) and it's about sold out.

  4. Loyalty definitely *was* a factor. First-time customers are more apt to have bids accepted to entice them to come back.

I thought that originally, myself; that I could have gotten it because we are first -timers. I just was referring to loyalty in respect to us having been loyal to them; as mentioned in the previous posts. Just a matter of interpretation.😊

  5. Thank you for your responses. So it seems that there are a few different metrics that come into play just besides the bid amount.

    Hi,

We had an aft inside Cabin on the NCL Epic 7-night Mediterranean on 4/22. I got 2 offers for upgrades; Mini-suite and a balcony. It said you could up your chances of getting 1, if you bid on more than 1. So I put the minimum bid on both and got a mid-ship balcony. We are first time cruises. Loyalty was not a factor, but maybe bidding on both was?
