    Walking the Island:

I love how much more lush the island is after 3 years.  We were one of the first ships to stop in Ocean Cay in Dec 2019.  Now, it is truly a paradise.

Crew Beach - Nicely done, MSC!

We made our walk to North Beach, as it was much less crowded in 2019.  It was still the same this time around.  I will post some pictures to show the difference.

TIP:  If you want a quiet spot, head to North Beach.  It is much more quiet and you get the bonus choice of swimming on the sea side or the lagoon side with a very short walk.

After you cross this bridge, you will see the path split off to the right for Yacht Club guests, with us taking the path to the left for our Bimini Beach & North Beach stop.211D8F10-7DCC-4D84-AA12-4801D369849C.thumb.jpeg.6e6584adbc28afe828ed9a4b614a425b.jpeg

I love that you appreciated the tranquility of the island.  I read another review who mentioned how "run down" it was compared to other cruise line islands and that MSC needed to add some water park activities.

No, it's just available the day you disembark (within the parameters of the Port Valet program) .  The luggage is loaded onto trucks and driven to SeaTac the morning that your cruise ends - there isn't any way that your luggage can be held until the next day

Thank you.  Is there somewhere to store luggage neat the port or the market if we are going to be staying at a hotel close to the airport.  Would like to be able to disembark and tour Seattle during the day before heading to the hotel.

You're the second person I've read on here today that said the Sunshine is dirty/in poor repair. It's disappointing to hear because she just came out of a drydock in November.

Although I do think we'll disagree on the food, but I'll see on Monday when I embark for a 7-day cruise. I've never found Carnival's food to be lacking - and I don't expect any different next week.

The thing is the Sunshine is pretty much the best ship that Carnival can put in Charleston with their current agreement with the city.

MZ-S, we will be sailing with you.  Glad to see others had some positive comments.

We were in to be Nassau on Jan 9, but due to high winds could not enter the port area. Stopped there on our return to Port Everglades.  Were going to do the Pearl island but on the reschedule it’s was not available, so we did the Catamaran sail and Snorkel.  If you enjoy water sports I would highly suggest it.  Water was warm, very clear. There were lots of different kinds of fish and coral.  The catamaran crew were awesome.  Enjoy!

Will be on the Sunshine Feb 28 and in Nassau Mar 2.  Where was the pick up or meeting spot for the Catamaran - this is one excursion we are looking at.

  5. I am just curious if anyone can enlighten me on why Celebrity (and it may be all cruise lines, I don't know) piece meals out the refunds for a cruise.  My daughter and I had a positive pre Cruise test, we notified Celebrity and began the wait for our refund.  The cruise was Jan 3.  As of today we have receive several partial refunds yet have still not received the total amount due.  I could see a bit if it was port charges - but we did not have that many ports scheduled.

Would love to hear from anyone who may have some insight.  Also, is this the procedure for all cruise lines?

  6. So my Celebrity precruise Covid test was positive.  I contacted Celebrity engagement and sent the required information that was sent to me by the testing company.  My question is: has anyone else had to be refunded rather than just receiving credit for another cruise?  If so, how long did the refund take?  When I look at my Celebrity profile my points are there and the cruise is listed as a previous booking.  Beginning to regret every booking with Celebrity.

I was in Cabin 2150 in August for 12 days.  I love aft cabins.  I would call myself an aft cabin snob, but after staying in that cabin for 12 days I wouldn't stay in an aft cabin on that deck.  Every day between 3:30AM and 3:45 AM scrapping of the chairs would begin.  I finally had to go to the retreat and complain to Jonathan.  They were aware of the noise.  Luckily for the cruise I am going on Sunday when I booked, they didn't have aft cabins ion deck 12.  I like deck 12 I am on the side .

Good to know for future bookings.

  8. I would also love to hear from anyone on the current cruising. My daughter and I were to be on board.  Sadly I tested positive on the pre cruise test. I just had a stuffy nose but from what I had heard from others recently I had a feeling it would be positive.  My dd was negative until today and even now we both have only mild symptoms.

We would have been in Sky Suite 2150. If some one can take a picture from the aft deck for me it would be appreciated.  We are hoping to be able to rebook for March.

Well, it happened .... We missed our cruise on the Reflection😣

We all (4 of us) tested negative upon leaving Canada on Dec 24th. Long story short ... 2 delayed flights and a whole lot of rebooking transportation to/from different airports finally got us into Ft.Lauderdale at midnight on the 24th.

Had 2 different Covid appointments we had to miss on the 24th but luckily had a 3rd one pre-booked for the morning of the 25th.

Received confirmation by text , showed up but the clinic was closed !!

Now what? Time is running out. Another $40 ON ANOTHER UBER and arrive at FLL for 10 am, only to line up for 2 1/2 HRS.

UBER to A1A Fort Lauderdale beach while we have breakfast and results by text come in. Negative,Negative,Negative, and POSITIVE 😮😮.

5 minutes later call from Florida State Health who says to go get PCR Test to confirm.

It's Christmas Day!!  Finally find a roadside tent and literally 5 1/2 HRS later of lining up in the hot sun ... Confirmed.  Positive !

So we don't board on the 27th, rent a car and get A quarantined in his own room in hotel. Today is day 6 and we have tested negative on 4 occasions now.

Both Celebrity (our cruise) and Royal (his cruise) have advised no problem we will all be refunded.

We had Covid insurance thru Manulife so our accommodation is covered too.  Just wish we were on the Reflection right now!

We have managed to get all of our tests at n/c but it has been a lot of waiting.  The RAPID PCR Test did cost $400 but Will be reimbursed for that from Manulife.

    Just wanted to share.

Would we do this again soon ? Not in your life !

So sorry.  I also hope your SIL is doing well.

My pre cruise test today resulted positive,  my daughter negative.  So no cruise for us Jan 3.

Our issue is everything is closed today so we can't notify the airline or cruise line. I don't want to just cancel without letting them know it is due to covid.  But looks like they may not be open until at least tomorrow or Monday.  Very frustrating.

I did and they are saying closed for the holiday also.  Tried about every celebrity number I could find.

It was the proctored test that Celebrity sent out.  so I would assume they would accept.

If you have the number for the Captains Club please share as I can not find one on the Captains Club site.

Need to get Celebrity the results of your positive test.  Hopefully it is one that Celebrity accepts.  There are various numbers for Celebrity including Captain's Club.  Agree will be difficult to get through but you have no choice but to wait on hold.

Am sure someone will quickly post exactly what to do.

Oh no....I am so sorry.  Did you have symptoms?  I don't know what to tell you to do, surely there is someone working at Celebrity?

Every number I called was closed.  Been on hold for 20 minutes with the airline.  Prior to today no symptoms.  Actually did a temp and "smell" test each day until today.  Before I did the online testing I checked my temp but did not do a smell test.  After the results I tested cinnamon and could not smell it.

But at least I have the online test results to prove why I am cancelling.

  13. So  my anxiety was warranted.  My pre test this morning was positive.  Problem is every phone number (Icruise and Celebrity) that I call is closed for the holiday.  Our sailing date is Jan 3.  Who and how do I contact Celebrity or can I wait until Monday?

This may only be your first hurdle, but please remember it is Covid.  I have always found that once I get onboard, all the other stuff melts away almost instantaneously.  Remember that when you MoveUp, you "agree" to the cabin you receive, as that was part of the policy.  Although, I have heard of others who have asked nicely to change cabins, in the same category, if others are available.  You do not get a higher level suite just because of an issue.  Did you check your cabin # on here to see if anything has been written about it?  Deck 11 would be my go to cabin, but I do not think you mentioned the name of the ship, did you?  E, S and M class ships are all different configurations.

It is actually the Equinox and we received cabin 2150.  Aft Sky Suite.  All in all a fine choice.

OK now there is a new twist.  Finally got through to Celebrity.  At first, they wanted me to go through icruise.  When I told them the agents I had spoken with at icruise were not aware of the Move Up program and that I also had received someone else's documents on the date that my credit card was charged they did pass me on to the Group booking (agency) representative.

When he looked up my reservation it still showed me in the original concierge cabin.  When I gave him the reservation number of the person's documents I received he said it did show that they had received a Move Up.  They are not on my cruise, their name is no where close to mine, so I can not figure why their documents came to my email (definitely a potential security issue).

So at this time I have paid for a Move Up for another person who sails the day before I do (Jan 2).

I currently am on hold with the Celebrity group representative who is on hold for the resolution desk.

Personally I am not impressed at this time with my first Celebrity experience.

Will update when I hear more.

Update: after 1 hour and 21 minutes on the line with Celebrity they finally say they have me in the Move Up cabin 2150.  I would think that they would have offered a higher upgrade given the circumstances.  But hopefully the person who received the "accidental" upgrade is able to keep it.
