My mother in law booked her cruise and put 2 people, herself and then a TBA, but will be going alone. It’s time for her to check in since our cruise is coming up and it still is asking for her to add her guest info. Is there a way to remove this online or do we just ignore it?

I would call and have the TBA removed. I had to do this before because the system wouldn't let me print out my boarding pass until both parties checked in. They removed TBA no charge, and refunded taxes & port fees for TBA. They advised me that if an actual name was populated a charge would likely apply.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten an answer to this... let me throw my two cents in.

I am going to guess that either your excursion is small or it's not very time sensitive.  They probably also did this for similar excursions back in the old, old days when they called them tenders.  My experience with excursions at tender ports was the same as yours - we met somewhere inside the ship and were guided directly to the tender/water shuttle/whatever.

I don't recall using my Platinum card for water shuttle priority, but I THINK the way it worked was that excursion groups had first priority, then it's Diamond/Platinum/FTTP - depending on the exact mix, they might be called separately.

I hope this has been of some help.  I assume if I'm completely out to lunch, I'll get called out quickly.

I'm in agreement with Honolulu Blue but I would also suggest just calling or going to the excursion desk to make sure.

At what point can you do online check in?

it has been awhile since cruising with Carnival. Is it at that point you pick your arrival time. If we are platinum do we still pick a time.  In the past platinum could arrive whenever.

Correct, check in determines your arrival time. If you are Platinum you can check in 16 days prior to departure.

  4. That pretty much sums it up. I don't know exactly when they started it but certainly it's been that way for me in all of 2022. You can show up later than your check in time but if you arrive early they will direct you to an "early arrival" line to wait until your selected time. I suppose if the lines aren't long, there aren't many in your group and they are in a good mood they might wave you through.

  5. I'm certainly going to find out. Being near Baltimore I've sailed the Spirit class ships several times and like the layout & capacity. I've enjoyed the Panorama & Horizon as well (both at partial & full capacity) and they didn't feel crowded and had more amenities. Although Celebration looks (and is) huge the only way to find out is to try it which is exactly what I'm going to do. As someone else stated it's a larger ship with more people so the concentration of people shouldn't be too bad for the most part.

  6. I'm coming on on 5 days before sailing to Bermuda and hadn't heard anything. I called the toll free number and they said that although I previously submitted my proof of vaccination with my application at approx. the 25 day mark they either didn't receive it or there was a problem with it They re-send the link which I promptly re-submitted. I immediately called back and they emailed approval while still on the phone. I just wish they would have proactively notified me that there was a problem instead of me having to call them.

Meant to add covid-19 testing tips.   My family of 4 used onpoint teleservice, $15 virtual appointment per person, you provide your own test, we used the free ihealth antigen rapid tests, verification within 15 min, uploaded verification to verifly.   Verifly confirmed and approved everything.  Check in on cruise was a breeze if your verifly is completed.

Thanks for this information. I'm using OnPoint for the first time this week using the same test kit and it's good to hear it went smoothly.

I have been in a lot of Oceanview cabins, and none of them had two bathrooms. Are you talking about a suite?

I also had the 2 bath OV on deck 1 on the Panorama (I believe it's called an OV Deluxe).

In any case I didn't realize it until I got to my cabin. I was sailing solo so never used it but definitely a nice feature for multiple people.

  9. I think you'll be fine introducing your family to Carnival cruising on the Panorama. I've been on both the Miracle (10 days to Alaska) and Panorama (7 days to Mexican Riviera) this year and had a great time on both. They are different ships due to age, amenities, layout and overall ship design/decor with the Panorama providing a more upscale experience and neither was a short booze cruise. Keep in mind that for whatever reasons people on the same cruise can sometimes have vastly different experiences. I hope you are able to enjoy what sounds like a great family cruise.

Why not give platinum cruisers room cleaning twice a day instead of the gifts. Doesn't cost Carnival anything and I would be happy with it. What are your thoughts?

Once a day is fine with me.

Absolutely on point. We are in the Washington DC area, and wanted to use CVS again for our Horizon cruise this past May, as we used them on 2 previous cruises. Our local CVS informed us they were no longer doing the tests as they had in the past, stating the demand for testing had fallen way off. They would now only do the rapid test with a Minute Clinic visit and the fees associated with that, plus the test cost.

I'm also in Maryland and did the same thing for a May cruise. I previously used CVS for previous cruises but this time I did rapid test with Minute Clinic inside of CVS and was told I could be charged since it was for travel. I guess it depends upon your insurance but I was never billed. Minute Clinic provided results before leaving whereas CVS took a couple of hours via email.

  12. I concur that it's best not to say anything in advance. I just did this with a casino offer last week. When I arrived to the port they inquired about the 2nd person and I said they could not make it. They just processed me in and I was on the ship. I know that taxes, fees and prepaid gratuities are automatically refunded.

Although my offer provided $200 OBC per cabin to be split between guests I noticed my account summary on the HUB only showed my $100 portion. I went to guest services and they arranged to have the other guest's OBC applied to my S&S. I don't know if this would have been done automatically but I wanted to get it sorted out earlier rather than later so I'd have access to the funds for the entire cruise.

Covid test 3 days before if you have both covid shots and 1 booster, if no booster 2 days before cruise for test

Fully vaccinated guests traveling on a cruise that calls on Canada will need to take their pre-cruise test no earlier than two days prior to sailing.
