  1. We went to Gordon's Beach in October on our first Crystal cruise. The beach and water are gorgeous (see photo). I know you might be stressing out because SeaDream can be bad with pre-cruise communications, but rest assured once you're onboard your worries will disappear. We did our first SD cruise since Covid, in the beginning of December, and it was better than ever -- staff was spectacular.

  2. I also called SeaDream this week about our upcoming SeaDream cruise in a few weeks. The agent led me to SDs website - at the top of their homepage in a black band with a link to Health & Safety protocol which has lots of info listed. As of today the only bubble ports are: "Currently, the following countries require a “bubble tour” format: Dominica, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Montserrat, Nevis, and St. Kitts."

Gouverneur's Beach and Soggy Dollar, here we come!

I believe we are booked on the same voyage.  It will be our first time on Seadream as well.  Look forward to meeting you onboard!

I'm betting you're going to love SeaDream, it's a really unique and wonderful way to vacation. Looking forward to getting the bonus "day 8" on this trip. See you onboard!

Yes, SD has Caribbean trips scheduled for late 2021.  Sorry for the confusion.  We are fighting cabin fever and in need of a "pain killer"asap.

Whew, I'm counting the days until November. I think we've sailed with you a few times in the past, it sure is hard getting through winter without a cruise to break it up! Keep us posted on how you like Windstar and have a Painkiller for me!

  5. Happy New Year fellow Seadreamers! Once we heard the vaccine was approved, we took a gamble and booked for the week after Thanksgiving. Anyone else booked for 2021? I knew I loved traveling and specifically Seadream, but I didn't realize how much until the lockdown. Here's to a 2021 that with each month, gets us a little closer to normal. It's fun to have a count down again - 327 days to go!

  6. Excited to see in the latest SeaDream newsletter that Frud has been promoted to Activities Director and Severin to Maitre d. I have oodles of "favorite" SeaDream crew members, but these 2 were definitely high on my list!

    CATCHING UP WITH SEADREAM

With our famous reputation for our service, we’d like to highlight two devoted SeaDream crew members who have been continuously bringing a positive attitude and a flourishing ambiance essential for the SeaDream culture. Frudelyn Torrecampo who has been recently promoted to Activities Manager, and Severin Bang as a Maître d’hôtel, continue to remain dedicated, driven, and loyal.

Here's a bit more about these special crew members:

Born in Cebu, Philippines, Frudelyn Latimosa Torrecampo has been excelling as a concierge for quite a long time, providing friendly service to guests and sharing her extensive knowledge of dozens of ports around the world. She acquired and mastered her skills in guest services from her experience working in luxury yachts in the Middle East before joining the SeaDream family. Currently, many guests and even crew members are still amazed that Frudelyn has been working at SeaDream for more than ten years!

Born and raised in sunny Durban, South Africa, Severin Bang joined the hospitality industry in 1998 and continues to master the art of service today. With experience in various bar environments, Severin became a notable bar manager and bartender in the most renowned cocktail bars in South Africa. Today, Severin has become an expert in providing quality service, and paying attention to the small details that make all the difference.

  7. Mai Tai's are no problem. We keep a list all year of crazy drinks we'd like to try on our yearly cruise. Most of the bartenders enjoy (or at least humor us) making unique drinks. My "go to" drink poolside is a Salty Chihuahua - Grapefruit Juice, Tequila, Triple Sec with a Salted Rim.

  8. Glad you're having a great time! We were on a few weeks ago....and we'll be re-boarding on the 27th! (Yes, this is the most decadent thing we've ever done). Chef Tomasz wasn't on a few weeks ago, hope he's sticking around for the 27th -- love his personality. Cooper Island sounds great, I do love the flexibility of changing itinerary on SeaDream. Have fun and tell Mikee to watch out we're coming back!

    Mark,

Thanks for the timely update. We'll be coming aboard SD1 this Saturday in SJU. Only our 4th time (1 crossing, 3 Caribe). I normally never do same day travel, but constraints have us doing the same day finger cross (from FL).

I do think we're near full, which will be quite a change from our Dec. 17' trip, where only 46 showed up in STT. That one was an amazing experience.

Should be fun with some Irish on the 17th, the announcement on the 20th, and celebrating our 20th anniversary on the 21st!

I hope your customs deal in SJU was a one off. We have a late afternoon departure from SJU and will wander Old Town, but wanted to enjoy a less rushed breakfast. Do you recall the name of the hotel that will hold luggage in Old Town?

    Thx again for the posts,

    Tim

We departed from St. Thomas the week before. We were told we were lucky that we could stay onboard until 10 a.m. and that if we had disembarked from San Juan customs requires everyone off by 8 a.m. Sounds like this is totally out of SeaDream's hands.

great stuff! Thank you so much. Those smiles say it all!

Ok. so, our itinerary definitely says Leverick bay and the excursion says, after the Baths, you'll take a scenic tour to the northern part of the island ( Leverick). We've done the baths 4 times, but it's so beautiful! And we are bringing a new couple on SD who's never sailed or been to BVI's and would like to experience it with them. I guess we'll just decide on board how to approach that. I was trying to avoid the truck/bus tour and feel a little more free. As a side note, my husband and I with a few other couples did a power catamaran vacation through the BVI's last June and we moored off Leverick bay and did their big dinner BBQ buffet. That area is in good shape and shops around there also.

Thanks for all the other updates also. Interesting you're reporting 52 on what sounds like my week, 3/16...The rooms all look booked except a few. 15 countries! That's so cool.

We sailed the week before Tiki_Man. Sorry to tell you, but we also also had the morning Leverick stop cancelled. Hopefully, knowing in advance will help with your planning.

  11. Just returned home from another fabulous week on SeaDream. Quick notes.... Quintessential SeaDream cruise - staff amazing (Capt. Lund, Christophe, Mikee, Gunston, Vlad, PJ et al), guests fun and interesting, weather perfect, best splash yet. I'll post a longer review later this week.

  12. We're onboard in 4 weeks, I never get a massage onboard because I can't bring myself to leave the pool and sun. I'll let you know which ones my family liked after we sail. At least one day, they usually do short massages by the pool - which is my idea of heaven! You'll love SeaDream, it's really something unique and special!

  13. We'll be getting off of SeaDream when you board! My brother and sister-in-law had the convertible room once. I think I remember them not liking that the mattress was low to the ground. Hopefully, you'll get bumped to a regular cabin - otherwise, just have an extra cocktail and you'll sleep like a baby! ;)

Are you going to stay in St. Thomas pre-cruise? It's looking like slim pickings for places to stay post hurricane.

  14. I'll be cruising Norwegian from NY to Canada in the beginning of October. I've cruised often, but never on Norwegian and never to a place that's not warm! I even have a "cruise" closet full of sundresses. I'm at a loss of what I should bring for the evening. The website says jeans, is this really acceptable and/or common? No formal or dressy evenings? Any info will help.

  15. Heartbreakingly sad. I have family members onboard and early on in the voyage they were texting how wonderful Nichola was treating them and how happy he was with his new position and new son. Life can change in the blink of an eye. Be kind, don't hold grudges and live life to the fullest. Rest in peace Nichola.

  16. Quick review for now and a more detailed one to follow. We just disembarked from SeaDream I yesterday (February 3). Service was the best we've ever encountered in 9 cruises -- and the bar from previous cruises was set pretty high. Lots of itinerary changes as we sailed - we made it to St. Barts and some of the BVIs, but they are still in bad shape. Can still find some gorgeous beaches, but lots of the bars/restaurants are not available. We're beach lovers so we were happy with the islands. Embarking from Antigua seems to have improved from previous sails. We got to the port early and were checked in quickly by very friendly immigration officers and then we sat at a nearby bar and had a drink. Come to find out that wasn't necessary, as two of the immigration officers were on the ship and dealing with customs.
