We are sailing in a Balcony on the Escape with 21yo and 19yo girls. Were going to finally get two cabins but priced it out and this was better. We just have to time getting ready - hubs first then he will go to bar and wait. It is cramped but we make it work.

Poor DAD cant walk around in his boxers, then has to get ready in a telephone booth sized bathroom, then has to leave the room so the 3 of you can get dressed in privacy.  sounds like a blast….

  2. My wife and I will be on the Bliss for our anniversary. we are trying to save money and instead of going to the expensive pay per meal restaurants we decided to by an electric grill for the cruise and make a few meals out on the balcony.  Do you think room service would allow us to order raw meats and fish up to our cabin or would we get that from the buffet and keep the raw stuff in the mini fridge until  needed?

  3. you will have access to the onboard ATM. Also remember most US based cruiselines will work off of US dollar. so any onboard exchange would not be to favorable.  your CC would be the better exchange rate and is seamless to you.

  4. when we arrive at the port I even have our passports open to the photo page with all and any paperwork bookmarking the passport. However, not everyone knows the deal or is computer savvy enough to even register online. some might not have a printer.  i always seem to be in back of those folks online.  But, we just deal with it, what else can you do.

From talking to to my consultant. I will get a full refund for the cruise and my air that I booked through NCL. And yes I will receive compensated  $2000pp only for my room. I now have to pay the increased prices of the room, taxes, airfare, transfers, hotels and excursions.  All these items have increased tremendously since I book in Nov. 2021.

If this had been just another cruise, I would just live with it.  This was a replacement for a cruise we were to have taken in Sept. 2020 that was cancelled because of the pandemic.  That cruise was a celebration of my 65th birthday, my husband retiring after teaching for 41 years, and us going to our 50th state.

FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS IN A POST PANDEMIC WORLD… DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE ON!!!

  6. I did a mock booking on NCL for the Joy Aug 23. it looks like its filling up more then most sailings before and after 8/23.  Has anyone sailed the Joy recently and know what the passenger capacity has been. Or do you think we may be looking at 100% or more by late Aug?

Hello, I am looking at a 10 day cruise leaving NY in august 23 and am going round in circles with cabin choices!!  Can’t afford Haven, but need 2 cabins one balcony and one inside very close or maybe 2 balcony as not much difference in cost?  Got option of large balcony and inside on 8th floor but near the front which I was not keen on due to seasickness issues and then 2 balcony on 9th floor but concerned about noise as restaurants etc on 8th.  Also looked at aft cabins but seems to be noise issues.  Any Joy experts who can guide me??  Thanks

its 9 nights not 10 days.

For the two cruises we did out of NYC precovid we used Park Right, just down the street from the terminal.  You drive to the garage, an employee gets in the car, you drive to the port (only a few blocks), get out, the employee gets back in your car and drives it to the garage.  When you get back you call them once you have gotten off the boat and they drive the car over to you.  Easy peasy!

would be useful to know how much that facility cost for your parking.  And how much extra the pier drop off cost.

Just suggesting an alternative.  We live far from ports so our options are to leave our car at the airport, the pier or a hotel.

For our 42 day B2B2B out of NYC in April we rented a car one way and the same on our return.  Worked well and will choose this option for our next cruise (Sept-Oct).

after 10 days parking in MHT is a flat rate of $400
