  1. Can any recent Dawn cruisers tell me what time we should plan to get off on our return to Boston? Trying to arrange car service pickup. I have not been on NCL in a few years but seem to recall they allow you to disembark yourself with your own luggage now?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Greetings, I did a solo on the Dawn May of 2018. If you did carry your own, folks were off by 0900. I picked late as I could and was off by 10:15.

Going again this week with wife and I'm assuming just as easy! Hae a great time when ya go!!

  2. Crown Royal and Baileys really on the list now?

Received e mail from Suite Concierge with the liquor list of choices - that portion of the email said "select 3 bottles" which is different than what I was told prior to the email - so I'll select the 3 bottles and go from there.

Yes Crown & Baileys were on the list! Oh boy!

  3. Hey folks,

Quick question. I just spoke with Concierge Desk. We upgraded to the OS 2 balcony. Just wanted to confirm that all requests were being moved to new suite.

She did say I had a choice of 1 bottle of liquor. For some reason I thought it was 3 bottles?

Is she mistaken? Is it because it's just wife and I? or because it was a bid upgrade?

Any thoughts appreciated.... it's not the end of the world - we'll have a blast no matter and have the UBP

  4. Thanks for the help!

Yes did get an email. We had a nice Family Suite for DW and I but they accepted our offer and here we are. I'm thinking this particular cruise is not sold out, so hoping the butler/concierge team is relaxed and focused on clients.

Good thought on calling pre-concierge team. They had set up a number of things for us in our previous suite before the upgrade. I suppose I can just have them move those items over. Got to be a record of it somewhere.

    one week! Fun!

  5. Greetings folks,

Leaving in a week on the Dawn out of Boston doing the Bermuda run. Just received notice of our upgrade to OS 2 balcony Suite #9006. I understand the Deck 9's are a bit smaller than Deck 10's. Can't find much in the way of info since the Refurb.

Any info and thoughts you could pass along regarding Dawn OS specifics would be helpful! It's been years since we did an OS.

As always, thanks for your suggestions and information. Really looking forward to a great time!!

  6. I did I did the 4-27 - 5-4 Dawn out of Boston. Had a great time and the staff was fantastic. Was a full ship and they were all so engaged and really went out of their way to make it nice. I was traveling alone in a mini suite on deck 11.

Was so relaxing, wife and I are going last minute on the July 6 out of Boston. I guess she just couldn't listen to my tales of relaxation any longer..... This time going for the family suite with balcony on deck 12. Haven't done one of those cabins yet.

  7. Thank you all for your replying to my request!! Any information helps. Looks like we have the 110 sq ft balcony. 409 sq ft room. Hoping the wind isn't a bummer when under sail. Great point made on no cover in the event of rain. Boston to Bermuda in July - I assume anything is possible....

Thanks again all for your thoughts. (now just got offer for OS with 2 balcony upgrade) oh the torture!!!

  8. Greetings Friends,

Just booked a family suite w balcony (SD) suite 12526.There is just wife and I. Still plenty of other rooms to choose from.

Thought you folks might have some experience on what is the best family suite for room size and large balcony on the Dawn. We still have time to change. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you care to share!

    Best,

    Jim

  9. Does NCL post on their web page which cruises they are waiving the single supplement fee? And if so, where on the web page is that located. That would be of great help if they do. I'm retired and wife still working - love to go often but the SS kills me.

    Thanks for any information!!

  10. Jplovestocruise, thank you for asking the question about the Haven experience. Also, Vyhaneck, thank you for your comments regarding the Haven on the Epic.

My wife and I sail the Epic in the DOS in November 2018. The last time we sailed NCL was 2007. Long before the Haven model and a lot of the new concepts being offered in cruising. We are so looking forward to the 11 day cruise on the Epic and in the Haven..

Any other tips or thoughts that come to mind please jump in with more info and that goes for anyone who cares to share.

Again, thank you jplovestocruise for asking the question! enjoy your next cruise!

  11. BirdTravels,, YOU are amazing! I just went through all 12 pages of your review in June of 17 on the Breakaway. Thank you so much!

Wife and I are on The Epic 11/18 for an 11 day Western Caribbean. We are staying in the DOS and are so excited. Your photos got us so "in the mood"

We've cruised NCL five times, with the last cruise 9 years ago. It looks as though it's going to be a whole different experience. Hoping the Haven and service is everything it looked like. I assume it will be.We've only had great times and great staff in the past.

Thank you again for sharing your time and effort with all of us - so generous of you!

  12. Really appreciate you taking the time writing your review of the Epic! Wife and I sail an 11 day in Nov 2018. This will be our first mega ship cruise. Loved the Star and Gem previously. Also did Royal, Brilliance of the Seas. Crew and ship were very good.

Thanks again for helping us get ready for our Epic cruise!

  13. Thanks for the info and updating this thread. Heading out Nov 24th 2018 for 11 day W Carib cruise. Staying in 17033. We also thought about the noise factor vs people watching and ended up making the decision we did. We are hoping the Concierge, Butler and Dining Mgr are all in good spirits and enjoying there assignments. It really is critical these folks are hitting the mark. Its been our experience they help make the difference between a good cruise or a great and memorable cruise.

I'm sure it'll be so much fun and relaxing.

Thanks for sharing all your information and may we all have a blast wherever we are going!!
