Tortuguero canal trip for wildlife viewing---a must!

Costa Rica is amazing and even if you don't want to "do the jungle thing", I highly recommend going on a small boat or canoe trip to the Tortuguero canals with a guide. You will see birds and other wildlife, sometimes very close. I've been in CR five times for extended periods and Tortuguero is my absolute favorite of all. I think you will miss something spectacular if you skip it.
