  1. Family of 5 booking our first cruise. We have young kids & when we are in port we plan on having relaxing days on beautiful beaches...not doing excursions. With this in mind, which itinerary would you choose? For us the important factors in choosing ports would be:

    -beautiful beaches

    -clean/safe

-easy to get to (don’t want long drives)

We seriously just want to get off the ship and spend the day on the beach. Calm water for our 2 year old is preferable. Ability to get a cabana or beach service would be amazing.

Two itineraries we are considering are:

    Western Caribbean: Miami-Roatan Honduras-puerto costa maya Mexico-Cozumel México-Cococay

Eastern Caribbean: Miami-Bassaterre, St Kitts, Charlotte Amalie St Thomas, Cococay

Which would you choose if you were us and why?

  2. Yes and your family room is quite a bit larger than a regular balcony room. The rooms that one cruiser was referring to were regular balcony rooms that could hold 5 and have a Pullman bed. Those rooms do not exist on Harmony.

For the family rooms while the deckplans do show the symbol for Pullman’s it is actually 2 bunk beds that are in a closet with a curtain for privacy.

Awesome. That’s what I was hoping for. I like that setup a lot.

  3. You must be thinking of the regular balcony rooms tha5 sleep 5 on Allure and Oasis.

On Harmony and Symphony those rooms are no longer available and there are no Pullman beds available on Harmony.

The 5/6 person family rooms are about the size of a JS and have a closet like area with bunk beds as well as a sofabed.

We just booked a family room on Harmony, so I’m not sure how that could be?

  4. Thank you so much to the people who replied with information that actually answered my question. At no time did I ask for opinions on if you think we could or should fit into one room. I simply asked for photos of the 5 person family room because what I have found online is contradictory. I don’t really care if you think it’s cramped or not. I only wanted to know the layout of the room and see photos if possible. Thanks again to everyone that actually answered my question. We are really excited and have no qualms about being in a small room together!

  5. Thanks everyone! I can’t make guarantees as to what my kids will sit through or not, LOL, but we homeschool them and they are pretty used to being out and about. They’ve sat through Broadway shows and the Nutcracker, etc. with no problems. The Little one is a wildcard though, no telling what she will be like once the cruise actually rolls around. I can hope can’t I? 😜

  6. First time cruiser here. How do I keep tabs on price adjustments and special so that I can call the cruise line and get my rate adjusted? Everyone keeps talking about this but I’m not sure how everyone is finding out when prices fluctuate for short periods of time. Is there a special program or website where you can keep an eye on things or do you just keep checking the cruise line website repeatedly like a mad person?

  7. My family of 5 (3 kids under 8; won't be using kids club) is about to book our very first cruise. We have chosen the 7 night western Caribbean on Harmony. As we plan and prepare, I thought I would ask here if anyone has any insight or tips/reviews for this particular trip. I really know nothing about cruising. We saw an awesome video of the harmony ship and decided that we wanted to take a trip on it. I think we will probably reserve two adjoining balcony rooms. We plan on eating a ton, swimming, playing, and parking ourselves on a beach when at port. Please let me know if you have anything to consider or anything special I should know! I know this is a can of worms but I figured I would try anyway :-)
