  1. Loving your review...and your choice of beverages!!

For the Muster drill - is the process still just watching the video online and then checking in at the appropriate check point?  Or do we all have to meet on the ship like before the pandemic?

I prefer the video and check in when you get onboard.  just curious.

    thanks!

  2. I think everything on Harvest Caye is overpriced! - I go walk around and then return to the ship for the things included in my cruise fare.  I liked when NCL actually went to Belize and we can go get a beer for cheap if so desired.

In my opinion goods (food and beverage) could be offered for a lower price point on Harvest Caye.

Maybe just optimistic, the Getaway is traveling from New york with no passengers from new york leaving Tuesday and arriving into port Canaveral Thursday at 10am. If the storm arrives coming from the west on tuesday around 2am as predicted hopeful thinking would be by thursday afternoon it will be far enough north. But who knows, i am not a Atmospheric Science professional, Just  lonely Casino Executive.

I'm also an optimist!! - I live in NOLA so I am a little accustomed to these type of reports... So for now, it is not a hurricane.... l'm going to focus on that and hope for the best and plan accordingly.  I am scheduled to fly in to MCO on Wednesday morning.... - we will see....

But. for now....TD not hurricane... Let's hope if fizzles to nothing.

  4. I called to get info and I received the following:

Group is 5 or more cabins (cabins can be any category, but an inside cabin only receives 2 of the 4 free at sea - speciality dining, drink package, internet, shore excursions.

    $100 OBC

Discounts are available if you book early...

    400 + days = 15% off voyage fare

    271 + days = 10% off voyage fare

and another one for 5% discount but I do not understand my notes....lol

I have a group booked for April and we all have balcony cabins and they were able to use the air promo, but since this is a family group cruise and we are taking advantage of the 3rd & 4th passenger at the $99 rate, this group is not eligible for the booking in advance rate. Not everyone added the air promo, so you may need to call again.  Or have the person who wants to add the air promo call and add to their cabin.  Im sure they will be allowed to do so.

    hope this helps.

But I do understand the variety of information that is given.... this is frustrating!

  5. We went on a 7 day cruise in Feb, 2022 and my daughter wanted to FT her 6 year old.  She had free internet package and she was able to FT and call her with the 125 free minutes.  We also used Whatsapp while in port so she could call and speak with her.  We did not upgrade the package and had enough minutes for "keeping in touch"....

It really depends on how often and how long you want to keep in touch.  Everyone's needs differ.  Hope this helps.

Hello Sheila, there is a martini on board it is called Prime Meridian and is located between Cagney’s and Moderno.

The Mojito bar will serve speciality Mojitos such as the Rasberry Guava mojito or the spicy pineapple just to name a couple.

Thanks for the quick reply!! I also love mojitos, so I am excited to try them on board.  I am really looking forward to the Raspberry Guava mojito!! - But sometimes, a girl just has to have a martini :))

    Have a great cruise!

  7. Well on my last cruise I decorated my cabin for my husband's birthday.

I ordered this from Amazon - used the streamers and a few balloons.

I also used these magnetic hooks to hang this.  I just hung it up behind our bed.  It was very festive and easy to put up and take down.

I also use the hooks for my necklaces, hats, etc in the cabin.

Your friend will love anything you do for her.

  8. I was on the April 17 sailing and I do agree that the servers were not at their best.  I previously sailed on the Breakaway in February and the service was outstanding.  To me, they were just "off".  The pool bar servers were not that available.  The bar staff in the Atrium was not attentive.  The service in Manhattan was not as good as previous cruise.

The bartenders were good, but this cruise seemed to lack enough food and beverage servers.  We did eat at the buffet several times (I had my 6 year old. granddaughter) so meals were easier there.  The food was always good.

I still enjoyed my cruise!!  - This was just my observation, that the servers were just "off".

  9. We just booked a last minute cruise leaving on April 17 from New Orleans. My 6 year grand daughter will have to have a Covid test prior to boarding the Breakaway.  Does anyone know if this is being done at the same location (Mariott - 859 Covention Center Blvd) when NCL was testing everyone?

We already have the required PCR test scheduled for Friday, April 15.

    Thanks in advance!

    Sheila

  10. @fethiyeden - Sorry I forgot to report back!

We did go to Passion Island with NCL.  The day we went it rained the night before, so everything was wet.  It was a windy day and the water was rough.  The boat ride over was extremely rough.  We got pretty wet with the waves hitting us.  It was pretty funny!  We were the only group there!

The staff was attentive, the food was OK and the bar drinks were not the best.

We still enjoyed ourself, but not sure if I would return.

The crew that picks you up is very attentive and working for tips..... they remind you of this.

I know their economy has been hit hard, so of course we tipped (we always do). But I just don't like to be reminded...

I do think Passion Island is pretty.  It is rustic and has all the things to enjoy a nice beach day.

Testing is done at the hotel directly across from the Terminal on Convention center Blvd. I was on the breakaway in December and Testing was easy and fast...get there early. I am on the BReakaway again March 6th and look forward to her again.

When you arrive at the port, you can drop off your luggage with the porters.  Then you can walk to the hotel to get your Covid test.  After you receive your negative test result and red bracelet, you can walk back to the terminal and check in for your cruise.  (This was the process for our 1128/01 b2B sailing)

    Hope this helps.

  12. I’m on board the Breakaway. Since my husband and I are b2b, we were tested yesterday morning along with about 20 other b2b passengers. We were informed that we would get our red wristbands delivered to our cabin!

Around 11am yesterday, NCL began testing everyone on board. Apparently required by CDC.

we are still on the ship with very few passengers……

we have not been told what is happening…

so we are enjoying an empty ship!!

the crew has been very careful with mask and hand washing!

will try to report later if I can

    i still feel safe!

If you chose 10am, that is the time you should arrive to drop off your luggage, head for testing, then back to the port for boarding. They are staggering  boarding times to help with congestion. If you show up at 8 am, I doubt you can get in as the first boarding time is not till 9am, plus at 8 am there will still be lots of disembarking passengers.

    Thanks!! - I have a 9am - 9:30am arrival.  Your reply answers my question!!

  14. Thanks for posting.

Just trying to understand this new check in process???

We choose a time to arrive at the port during check in on the NCL site, let's say 10am.

We go to the NCL pier at 10am to drop off luggage

Walk to the Marriott to get in line for the Eurofins test

    Wait for results (hopefully negative)

Walk back to Cruise terminal to be processed for check in

Wait for boarding group to be called

Or to we arrive at port at 8am to be at the port to officially check in at 10am (assuming it will take approximately 2 hours for the Eurofins process)??

Thanks for any info that anyone can provide.

  15. I do understand the damages from Hurricane Ida.... She was not nice.  I cancelled my Europe trip that I had booked for November.  But I have decided to leave from NOLA in November.  I need a vacation!!! Especially after the mess of Hurricane Ida.... My storm debris was finally picked up on Thursday!! - Still waiting for my roof to be completed and my floors to be repaired.

Hopefully it will all be completed in the next few weeks.... Lots of roofs need to be replaced in my area.

Hang in there, WE are Louisiana STRONG!
