—no more ice unless you ask for container then only filled once during cruise
Seriously? Not once a day like we've been getting? Thanks for all the info, good and bad
I believe this falls under the category of clueless you mentioned . If you ask for ice you should get it

RC never stopped due to safety concerns. They stopped due to PR concerns.
Plus since the ship wouldn't have been cleared for passengers to disembark, the ship technically was never there. That's very subjective , but either way for the thousands of passengers ( half of which probably don't want to be anywhere near ) , the PR issue still stands . And also frome my understanding , whether anyone actually gets off the ship or not , as soon as lines are thrown , they are technically in Haiti ...

Just saw on a FB page that Adventure of the Seas pulled into Labadee at midnight one night and delivered supplies. The supplies might be for the people living there?
Yes. They've been doing humanitarian stuff, especially fuel for generators.
Am I the only one that finds this odd that with everything that is going on and the decisions that have been made , that Royal is making middle of the night stops with thousands of passengers aboard .... (Assuming this is actually true) .Especially in light of all the talk about Travel insurance policies possibly even becoming invalid due to this ... Seems Risky

Keep checking your Coco Cay Beach Club prices! I just went into my cruise planner for a totally different reason and noticed that the price went down to $76.99. Total discount after all of the add ons was $11.00. That’s not a lot of money, but I’ll take it.I was so busy canceling my previous reservation and rebooking at the lower rate that I forgot do do what I originally went there to do! 😂 Guess I’d better go do it!
$296.75 PP Canadian for my Feb/25 Oasis.
I'd like to try it out but I'll never justify that ... I'll keep checking though

I've seen the Harbor Pilot come /go from the ship. That's something only a young, healthy person can do, and -- if the article is truthful, which is never a sure thing -- this group was far from young and healthy. What did the article say? Four elderly, one quadrapalegic, one pregnant woman? Seems like an unlikely number of medical issues for a group of nine.
Nor have I. With the media being what is is, we don't know much for sure.
If this is true , why would any coast guard captain ever consider it a viable option ?

I love it. We were the only ship today at Coco cay on Wonder, which is rare now a days and man was it great being one ship. Hideaway is definitely our favorite and with one ship and lots of kids on Wonder, Hideaway was never packed and wonderful. I even found a 10 year aged whistle pig bourbon which I was shocked to see. I found it interesting though that currently they don't allow any shots, straight liqueur, neat, during "spring break".
I understand the reasoning behind that but It would not sit well with me , (at 54 yrs old) if I want to purchase a shot and could not.
...I would quickly get over it though !

I mean when you include 2x in balcony cabin + drink package + internet + maybe 2 specially dining we are at over 5000? Where princess or ncl are around 3500 and for comparison msc is under 3000
That is quite a comical generalization !
... At least it made me chuckle

If you have an assigned time at 5:15 PM, you should be at the MDR at 5:15 PM. Technically there is no window for fixed dining, although most waiters tend to be flexible for people who show up late (within reason). If you like the flexibility of showing up at the MDR at a time that is convenient for you, you should do your time dining.Unfortunately there is no such thing as Your time dining... Only THEIR time dining !

waitlisting must be preventing you from making flexible dining times????
I would guess that maybe you have been assigned a set dining time, and are no longer waitlisted
Give them a call and confirm

Absolutely loved it and from the time the ship opened until late morning it was so peaceful. Not wanting to seem like a grumpy old man as I've had children that age, but the lack of children laughing, screaming, playing etc was both weird and welcome for the serenity. Would definitely pay again to go to Hideaway especially if on the lower end of the dynamic pricing scale.
understand what you are saying about lack of kids , but in my opinion referring to Hideaway as "Serene" would definitely be misleading !
Also with others referencing the food . I think that is where RCI could have done so much better and made this much more attractive had they put some real 'upscale' options in there

Tough crowd. I feel bad when someone misses the ship whether it was their fault or not. You don’t know their story. They could have had something beyond their control or they could have been drinking at the bar two blocks away. Either way if there’s kids involved it wasn’t their fault.
hmmm...
I don't think you are making your point very well here
Edit... I guess you are saying Not 'the kids fault' , Got it

Bad enough they have rerouted our 5/15 Symphony cruise to Nassau but they changed our stop at Coco Cay from 5/19 to 5/20. Since Wonder has been scheduled for a 5/20 Coco cay port stop from the get go does anyone have any experience with how they would handle Symphony's cabana, day bed and excursion reservations? At this late date I would guess Wonder has gobbeled up all the spots.
I think you have your answer ... If there is anything Wonder hasn't "gobbled" , you can take a crack at it. I'm betting they will not be giving friend and family discounts

They are not your typical golf cart. Gas powered, 4-6 passenger off road capable, knobby tired, that you can take places cars get stuck. 20 mph speed vs the 12 mile governor on most. Typical first trip from the port is a 7 mile run out to the lighthouse, then maybe the off road run out to fisherman's point. Car rentals are cheaper, but cars are not as good transportation for the terrain as the carts. Lots of hard sand/island rock roads instead of pavement once off the main 2 roads. Just aren't allowed to take them on any of the beaches (cars not allowed either). Hands down the best way to get around the island.
Good to know

I am suspect that there started to be too many entitled parents who decided that their 12 yo was mature enough to go so they just made it black or white with no option for parental consent.
Entitled Parents ?.... Naaah , couldn't be

There were plenty of excursions available once we boarded Thursday. We rented a golf cart at the port for $120 (cash only plus gas) for the day. It was fun being on our own tour but there isn't much to see! The island is very safe, very few locals even out. Gas station attendant told us the weekends are very low-key here and most people stay home. The golf carts and ATV's are 90% of the vehicles on the road. There is nothing much "downtown". We ate at Jack's Shack and spent about an hour at Governor's Beach. Oh, a 1/2 tank of gas was $10. It was a really nice day and it was a bonus to go somewhere we've never been! And fun seeing the donkeys. They are plentiful!
$120 for a golf car for a few hours , good for them. Someones rakin it in!
Looks like my type of place though ... I'm into Low Key !

Originally they were saying they would give 3 days notice... Now they are up to a month. Things are Fluid and will change as the situation evolves

I feel like this would be the best job you could have as an RCI employee .
Unlike the ship where the guests are never gone. Here they are only dealing with people for 8-9 hours at a time.

If the price drops after final payment you can request a FCC ( future cruise credit ). You can only do the request 1 time, if it drops further you will not get another.
I did the request just yesterday and will hopefully receive one for $1200.00 to use on my next cruise. They are good for 1 year.
nice

Hey all .
I am a frequent RCI cruiser with only 1 NCL cruise , (taken 6 years ago on Breakaway). I am wondering if NCL policy is similar to RCI with regards to price drops ? With RCI if price drops before final payment , all that is needed is a call to customer service and they will match . Is NCL the same or if it is different could you please explain.
Thx

This could be quite entertaining if not for the constant audience (cheating), and in my opinion ruining it for everyone . Totally realize these things are just for "fun"or maybe a keychain, but let the selected players play on their own.
...interested to hear your comments
