  1. Keep trying. Last week I tried to purchase Cheers for a February cruise and it would allow me to enter it in my cart, then nothing. Later on I could enter a credit card and nothing further. It kept showing my cart with the purchase in it but not completed. The next day, the entire purchase went through on the first try. I also had tried on two different browsers, so it must be the website needs some serious tweaking.

  2.  In August 2018 we stayed at the Courtyard Boston South that had an escape-park here-fly there package that included shuttle transportation to and from the port as well as parking. Our car was parked right in front of the hotel entrance while we were gone. The package could also be used for trips to and from the airport.

Other hotels that had parking options were the Quality Inn Revere Boston Cruiseport and the Rodeway Inn Boston Cruiseport and Airport.

    Good luck!

  3. My daughter and I sail on a 14 night cruise on the Veendam on August 4. The ship docks also in Havana two days prior to Cienfugos. We have booked with Blexie for the Havana day.

Last summer we visited Havana on the Carnival Paradise and booked a walking tour with the ship and half day with OldCarTours. It was wonderful! Since we had done the morning on a "standard" tour, our driver/guide was able to take us to a few places not normally included. At night we went out and took a cocotaxi to el Floridita and Bodeguita del Medio to have drinks in the steps of Hemingway. We were two women alone and felt totally safe alone at night in Havana. Everyone we met was helpful and friendly.

I will report back on the Cienfuegos tour when we return.

  4. We have booked Caribbean Pearl Tours also for a Cienfuegos tour in early August. Communication with them was super easy as Fernando answered my emails virtually the same day and answered any questions I had asked. Now we just have to hope the ship actually docks there as I keep reading that many stops there are cancelled for a variety of reasons.

  5. We have booked and toured twice with Cleve's tours - the first time in February and then again in April. Cleve was our guide the first time and Chelsea the second. Both were excellent guides, describing the history and culture of Roatan. On the first tour we had no idea what we should be seeing and depended on Cleve to bring us to the most important places on the island. When we toured in April we actually did a boat tour through the mangroves, visited additional villages, stopped at a supermarket and returned for lunch at a hilltop spot called Cal's that we had visited with Cleve. Both days were well worth the price of the tour and we felt like we made friends in Roatan.

  6. Just off the Divina a week ago and the wall in the cabin between the closet and the wall mirror was magnetic. I brought two strong hooks purchased at Home Depot and they held half full beach bags all week long. We were on deck 12 in a balcony. The wall at the entrance next to the bathroom door near the light switch was also magnetic.

  7. My daughter and I cruised on the Paradise just two weeks ago. We did the 5 night Key West and Havana,Cuba itinerary. I,too, had some reservations when we booked but was pleasantly surprised. We are experienced cruisers - she's done 50 and I've got her beat with 54 - and have cruised on big, medium and small ships. We've sailed on old Chandris, Dolphin, Premier's Big Red Boat, NCL, Celebrity, Princess, HAL, Carnival and RCCL. The Paradise held her own with all of them!

The MDR food was great. Wine list was not extensive but was not priced sky high. Entertainment was some of the best we've seen - Latin themed and 80's music shows. Cruise director and staff were everywhere and doing a great job. Housekeeping was efficient and friendly. All public areas were clean and well cared for. The casino was not smoky and you could actually walk through and breathe normally! There was a variety of music in different venues - all were worth listening to. The buffet was small but well stocked. Two lines were actually outdoors near the pool on the Lido. They offered burgers, etc and the Mongolian Wok dishes. Pizza Pirate was open 24 hours and the pizza was always fresh.

What wasn't great? Well, the cabins were old school. No refrigerator, no hair dryer. Very basic, but clean and well taken care of. We had ordered bottled water and had to ask for an ice bucket and get a bucket of beers from the bar on the first day to hold extra ice. A real sacrifice! LOL!

I think you will enjoy your time on this ship. I would sail on the Paradise again if I found an itinerary that interested me.

  8. Happy to report that our OBC refund check arrived today in the plain white envelope from Bottomline Technologies in Portland, Me. It was disbursed on 1/5/17 and mailed on 1/6/17, obviously not the date quoted by Princess last week. I'm thinking they sent the info to Bottomline on 12/29 as they stated in our phone conversation and it took a week for the payment company to process the check. So all in all it took 10 weeks. "All good things come to those who wait" my mother used to say....Happy New year fellow cruisers...:)

  9. We sailed on the Royal on Oct 22 and also have a hefty amount of onboard credit to be refunded. I have spoken four times to Customer Relations, each time being put on hold, transferred and given a variety of excuses and answers. The agents could not even direct me to a supervisor.

Today they told me it was mailed out on December 29th in a plain, junk mail type envelope from a company they use for these type of refunds. I'll keep you all posted on when the pony express delivers!!

  10. We were on the July 20th sailing of the Breeze, deck 2 aft. The stateroom was tolerable but the hallway always had a strong sewage smell. It was disgusting. Even the aft pool area was hard to take at times because of the stench. We complained to guest services twice and although a supervisor was supposed to get back to us, no one ever did. We spoke to fellow cruisers who said they were unable to use their balcony because of the smell and were promised compensation. Other areas of the ship were fine.
