Funny thing- on the Carnival website it still lists the old prices for the cabanas and villas. But for my particular sailing, the rates have gone up! Hmm...

I totally agree with supply and demand! I am actually surprised there are any cabana's left for the week. FTTF is also still available. The ship must not be very full yet.
I am glad I was able to book it for the lower price as I had been checking every day for it and knew it was $289. If I didn't have prior knowledge to the lower price I probably would have still booked it and not given it any thought.
It has excellent reviews, so I can see where they would want to see if they can make a few extra bucks.

I am sailing in 2019 and booked my cabana last week. So glad I did as it is now showing as $319! I think the villa went up as well, but not 100% sure.

I was able to get it for our August 2019 cruise on the Sunshine (Charleston)!! Happy family here!

I'm hoping this issue gets resolved as well. It won't cause me to change our booking though. I really think the Sunshine has so much to offer. We are on the Lido deck. Hoping we won't smell it in our area.

Hopep84- Thanks so much for the response! We will stay in Charleston the night before so we are there in plenty of time, but wanted to park at the port for ease of getting right on the road after the cruise and I've read the parking is secure. Thanks for the tip of pre-paying.
We are so excited although it will be a long wait before Aug 2019!
ETA: I will read your review. We are bringing our kids with us. :)

Thanks for the review! We are sailing out of Charleston on the Sunshine in 2019 and it is our first cruise and we are super excited! We don't have anything to compare it to, but now I am wondering if we should stay at a hotel before the cruise and leave our vehicle there or park at the port? Is it really complicated to navigate the port and parking? We are driving there from Canada so will have our vehicle.

We booked in Canadian funds and have been told that all of our online payments will be made in Canadian. My vacation planner said that we won't qualify for most deals that are sent by email as they are for US fund deals, but to contact her at anytime and she will check for a price drop. We have already had a small price drop since we've booked a few weeks ago.

We are taking our first cruise and we are bringing our kids. We were concerned about space and specifically didn't want a balcony because of my own strange worries so we booked a grand scenic ocean view room. They aren't on every ship (Carnival) and the ones that have them only have two rooms, but it was our best option for more space at an affordable rate.

We've stayed at The Stewart Hotel which was an amazing location. It was in the $300 range. It is very close to Penn Station so if you are flying into Newark it would be very convenient as you can just walk. We were able to easily walk or take a subway to all of the locations you have mentioned.

So glad to read this information. We've just booked a grand scenic ocean view and was worried about the motion. We are so excited about the view!

We have just booked for August 2019! It will be a long wait, but hopefully very worth it!
I’ve just booked for next May and HMC cabanas already sold out?

When I was looking for a cabana for HMC for Aug 2019, they just didn't have them listed if they weren't available yet. They become available for me about 3 weeks ago. If it says sold out, I think it means they have actually sold out.
