Seems like your Q got over-looked.  Yes, B2B passengers do have to disembark briefly at US port turn-arounds.  You will receive a letter in stateroom with instructions; you all meet up and go off together to clear US CBP, and then you can re-board.  If you are staying on, you will be back on board before any new passengers come on.

Thank you so much for your information

  2. We are sailing at the end of April. Unfortunately we did not purchase cancellation insurance - I see now that that was really dumb of me. Does anyone know if it is too late to purchase it now from Princess as it is about 60 days until we sail. We have paid our cruise and ezair flight in full. I really do not want to cancel - but if this virus gets worse I worry.

  3. If anyone can help answer my questions I would truly appreciate it. My husband, and 25 year old grand-daughter and I will be sailing to Hawaii in May. We will be in a Mini Suite. Do they leave the sofa open and made into a bed, or do they put it back to a sofa in the morning. Also, do they put the comfy new mattress on top of it.

  4. We are sailing on the Crown in 2 weeks. This will be our 3rd. time sailing her in 11 months ( love the Crown). Could anyone please tell me if Skywalkers is open for a drink late afternoon - last sailing it was not however the first sailing it was open for Elite passengers. We love being there when the Crown sails out of port. Thank you for any information.

  5. We sailed on the Costa Mediterania  (sp?) it was about 6 years ago. Our room was wonderful. The ship is extremely clean and beautiful - not one bit tacky. I don't know what they do but the air flow all over the ship but it was amazing - I have never had a better sleep than I did on this ship. The food was good - similar to Princess. The only complaint was the entertainment in the theatre - not so good. Hope this helps - I am sure you will love the cruise.

I never order lobster on a cruise ship. Having lived in the Boston area for over 35 years in a town where there were lobster pots all over the harbor and having fresh caught lobster was the norm, ship lobster is a poor substitute.

Any lobster north of Cape Cod is cold water lobster. Doesn’t matter whether it’s in Massachusetts, New Hampshire or Maine. It’s the same lobster. They don’t know about state lines. 🙂

I have mixed feelings about the extra charge items on the menus. I’ll be on the Ruby in just over couple of weeks and will decide then whether it’s worth it. Chances are that if I have extra OBC, it will be.

Have a great cruise, Pam. We fly from Toronto to Rome tonight. Cruising on the Crown to Fort Lauderdale. We were on her in May and love the Crown - we also love her sisters, Ruby and Emerald.

  7. My husband and I were on this sailing. We went up to Skywalkers, on deck 18, to take pictures. The ship was on a bit of a slant. The captain gave numerous updates as stated by another poster. All passengers were told to return to their cabins, so we took the stairs down to our 10th deck cabin. The captain did a wonderful job keeping everyone informed, and not for one moment were we fearful. Kudos to the captain for a job well done, and thank God no damage was done to this wonderful ship.
