When I booked earlier this spring, it took forever to apply the 30%.   I made multiple calls and emails to different people and departments.  After about two months,  we were only a few dollars off.  Then I started emailing about that.  Ended up with a few dollars less than it was supposed to at the end.  Good luck!!

Still trying to get this fixed.  Been emailing back and forth with casino department but they still say it's applied.  But only on the $79 part they see as the base fare and not the other $160 they call an SRN but the 5% voyagers club discount did come off the SRN part.  So I would think the 30% should.  Also since the SRN & base fare are combined on the website.  Any idea who you contacted to get it fixed?

Are the free drinks just for when you are in the casino?

Yes, but can be ordered at the casino bar or from the waiter.  That is only if you booked your cruise through the casino department.

why ask why???  We booked inside guarantees for Seaside Oct 26 and Oct 29.  They assigned us a Bella experience balcony for each cruise.  We are at Diamond level with over 20 cruises on MSC so it's not just 1st time cruisers.  We then bid for the Inside Yacht Club and got a Yacht Club balcony for the 7 night Oct 29 cruise,

There are certain web sites which show all available cabins which cannot be mentioned on Cruise Critic.  These two dates still have many unsold cabins in all categories.

could you message me that site.  I tried to do a Google search but cannot find it.

what department or email was able to help you the most?  I have no clue who to even contact as I tried the casino department several times and this last time they jist said well we can remove the discount if you want.  But offer no other help.

    Greetings

26th 3 night and no cabin assignment until about  about 3 weeks after booking

My thought is this ship does not sail full so they give the unsold balcony’s to new

MSC 1st timers as for a opportunity for

repeat business. (I may be wrong)

Yes, that might be the case.  I am diamond and sailed many times with MSC so no luck for me.

1st time MSC cruiser here as well. Booked inside guarantee and received inside on deck 14. Is there a way to ask for a complimentary upgrade to balcony prior to cruise?

Usually the only way is to do the upgrade bid if they send you an email.

    We have experienced the same

    we booked an inside guarantee

    and was awarded a balcony

Does anyone know if the ships are

sailing at 100% capacity? We are

sailing in 2 weeks on Seaside and

would love to know this answer.

    TY

Was this for the Oct 29th Seaside cruise?  Also did you have a cabin assignment and then they changed it later or was the balcony your first assignment?

I had this issue earlier in the year.  The issue ended up stemming to my CASINO account was not linked properly to my Voyagers account (One had my middle name, the other did not).  Once this was corrected over two weeks of e-mails, they linked correctly and they added the additional 5% to my OBC.  Since then, I have booked three cruises for boy 30% and Free Room + Upgrade Add-on's with no issues regarding the 5% applied directly.

The 5% is coming off correctly its the 30% that is not.  When I calculate the booking it seems the discount in total is only around 15% for my booking.

When I used my 30% off + 5% I went through the Casino department for booking. Give them a call.

That's who I called.  They said it was applied but when I explained it was not really 30% coming off they did not know what to do as the system does it automatically.

    Hello,

    Is is not, or never usually, 30%+5%. It's usually 30% + 5% of 70%. Or: 5% + 30% of 95%.

    Regards,

    Cublet

Is that because more of the base fare is really a tax then what it shows on the website?

Because when I talk to them they see my base fare as cheaper then what the website shows but the taxes as allot more.  For me the base fare was showing $239 + $150 tax & port fees but on there end they see $99 base fare and $189 tax & port fees.  So it seems the discount is only coming off the $99 part.  Is that correct?

  8. I recently booked a reservation for a upcoming MSC cruise & tried to use my 30% off casino discount but it did not apply correctly.  I am a voyagers club member so the agent applied the 5%+30% they said but when I check the discount was not anywhere near the 30% it was suppose to remove.  Did anyone else ever have this issue?  I have tried several times to contact the casino department but nobody has any clue & said it is all just done by the system so it must be correct.  I tried to explain that if you do the math you will see it is not correct but they don't care.  I also asked for a supervisor or someone higher up but they said there is nobody.

I understand the taxes and port fees are not discounted just the base cruise fare but it still is not coming out correctly.

  9. Looks like the money off rewards are back.  All 3 the $250, $500 & $750 but now it says the reward is only applied to the person redeeming it & only 1 reward per cruise reservation.  So seems they have cracked down & you can no longer use 1 per person.

What ship were you on? I board on Sunday, booked in a free casino cabin offer.. nothing said free drinks but I found that hard to believe.

We were on the Seascape.  We actually are on it again today for a second week.

Nobody ever said anything about the free drinks but I saw it posted on Facebook and did ask about it when booking.  I then went to the casino and asked at the table they had setup to sell stuff like lottery and bingo cards.  The guy asked how I knew and I said they told me when booking.  He has a whole list of peoples names and he will find yours on there for a casino booking.

Also he mentioned be sure to let the server always know you have the sticker or they will charge you.  It happened to me once but they did correct it.  Also you can order at the bar in the casino.

  11. Yes, it's true. We are currently on the boat and you just have to go to the casino and as for a sticker for your room key to show you get free drinks.   You can order anything you want up to $10 they said.

  12. I recently booked the NCL Sprit cruise from Vancouver to Alaska & Hawaii but for me it is only showing the promo code LATDBLX for 2 bonus points per night.  I was thinking it was suppose to be 3 bonus points since it is an Alaska cruise.  I called today & the lady I spoke to was not sure why it was only showing 2 bonus points but then someone else told her it is because it also is a Hawaii cruise & not only Alaska so it does not qualify for the 3 bonus points.

I just wanted to see if anyone else who booked this cruise has the LATDBLX code or if LATRIPLE did apply to this cruise.

    Thanks in advance.

never thought about doing a cruise until myveags.

    just a quickie.

    let say i have 2 x 750 myvegas coupon.

would the 1500 cover only subtotal 1367 or would it cover some of the open bar gratuitites? thanks.

    • Subtotal
      $1,367.60
    • Gov. Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses
      $307.14
    • Open Bar Gratuities
      $523.20
    • Specialty Dining Gratuities
      $35.60

It would only cover the subtotal.

  14. Does anyone know if you can use the ncl shareholder obc with the cruise first & $750 off myvegas discounts?

I saw someone said they did it with the myvegas discount but was wondering if combined with cruise first if you still can.

So there is a $20 fee per day per person?  Or is that just on the free cruises? From the terms I only saw the $20 fee wording on the free cruises.  I was looking at getting the $750 off voucher but if there is an admin fee it makes the deal not so good.

I just called and confirmed there is still a $20 per person per night admin fee with using the $750 off voucher or any of the vouchers.

With the $20 pp/day "casino booking fee," "$21.50 pp/day staff gratuity fees," "free at sea gratuity fees pp/day," "extensive onboard fees/charges for activities pp/day;" the free/comped or $750 off cruise (can be free for 9 night from Miami), will cost you thousands!  Plus, MyVegas won't refund credits, even for unused vouchers.  Both MSC & Royal Caribbean are MUCH better awards, things that are truly free/comped!!!

They do not offer unlimited on the ship. I can't see how you'd even use 7gb either. It's not fast at all. You get tired of waiting after a while and spend time... cruising!

We started with the basic, met our limit, then upgraded for $40 more on the ship. It reset our limit to 7gb then - it didn't just give us the extra gb.

Thanks for the information.  I will stick with the regular plan for now & then upgrade if I have to.  Just did not want to have to pay allot more if I needed more data later.

  18. I was wondering if anyone else got the below e-mail from dscout on behalf of msc? It promises $200 on board credit and free internet for giving them your review of the cruise. No, they are saying sorry it was a contest & you where not selected.

To me this is false advertising & really upsets me as there where no mention of a contest or any terms of this in the e-mail to mention this. I was wondering if anyone else is is the same boat as me?

  19. We always take water bottles with us. The sink water should be the same water and whats in the whole ship. It is all very well cleaned, so no worries there. That water is cleaner than the water in that plastic bottle LOL

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. We will make sure to take our water bottles.

  20. This will be our first cruise and I have a quick question about the seaside. We did not get a drink package & are fine with tap water, tea & coffee as we will just purchase other drinks as we go. The question we don't want to have to buy there expensive bottled water so can you take a water bottle to fill up at the buffet to use throughout the day? or are there places where you can fill up a bottle with drinking water? or is the sink water the same drinking water without chemicals added?

    Thanks in advance.

  21. Just off Seaside today.....No.... Must buy one of the two offered week long packages.

As Cullyman stated...plenty of free wifi areas at each port. We decided to not purchase the internet package(s) and had no problem finding wifi connections at our ports which more than met our internet and communicating with family needs.

Is the $79 package the cheapest internet they offer? Also has anyone used it and what are the speeds like?
