Not very patriotic of P&O, but perhaps not surprising.

Thank you for your correspondence to us with regards to your Arvia booking. We are working through all communications as quickly as possible, but due to the extraordinary circumstances associated with COVID-19, we are dealing with an unprecedented level of queries at this time. I hope you accept my apologies for the delay.

I am sorry to hear that one of my colleagues in the contact centre said the military benefit was not combinable with your drinks package offer, this is not the case, please accept my apologies on their behalf for the inconvenience this has caused you.

I can confirm that I have added your military benefits onto your booking which means your on board spend total is now £265 pp which we hope you will enjoy spending on board with us during your memorable cruise on our brand new ship, Arvia.

Please could you also let us know your Defence Service Discount card number so I can add these to your booking notes, and please don't forget to bring this on your cruise with you as proof of entitlement.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi

I’ve just received this from P&O this afternoon after a couple of months of waiting, so if you were told military benefit doesn’t apply to the promotion by the contact centre, it does

Not something he’s gonna mention in that context really, he said about ‘the preparation to resume service’ which refits and inspection form part of.

Plus the legal requirement for hull inspections every 5 years, which the likes of Azura are outwith

I have a FlexPlus account but do not have a physical document stating that I have travel insurance. I’ve phoned them asking for a document but they say they don’t provide this unless you pay for an upgrade i.e. age extension, medical conditions etc. Also no where in the policy document does it state cruises are covered but the person I spoke to ensured me they were. But it means I don’t have a lot to show at check in, so a bit worrying.

Hi, If you go onto page 41 of the policy document it tells you there about cruise cover, this is standard cruise cover , if you want missed ports etc you have to pay a £40 excess

I see, thought it was worth me checking haha! We’ll have to do a B2B out of Southampton next time then 😆

This was direct from P&O for a fly cruise to the med on Azura for next year , and I got the 10% discount on both cruises, despite the TA saying I couldn’t, I then forwarded P&Os reply to them and it was then sorted
