  1. Don't you just love people who jump in 3 or 4 pages in and spout about nothing at all.

I'm sure I'm guilty of it to in the past ... but just saying, too funny here with all the GIVE $$ people.

It frustrates me I don't know why, I guess people think they are above others. Idk I think if your going to comment you should at least read what's going on.

  2. I would not give an adult person working for tips a trinket or candy, that is ridiculous and insulting. Their not children in a refugee camp! Give them cash and a good comment to their boss
If you read her posts you would have seen she is giving $$, the "goodie" bag be it candy or toiletries like the OP said would extra. Geez

  3. I think you all need to relax, the OP is just looking for some information on another tread someone else started a little while back and smthey also said they will be giving the room service attendant a monetary tip as well. There are to many people on Cruise critic who think they are all high and mighty. Everyone has a right to do what they want as far as giving a goodie bag or not. A few pieces of candy in the baggie with your tip is not a bad thing. Or giving a new magazine for the the crew to look at it's not a bad idea. I wouldn't go as far as giving them souvenirs they don't have room for that and their cabins but to each their own.

  4. "natural" or homeopathic items are pure scam/sham. Homeopathy is based on a theory of water "having memory". Bogus and never proven. You water down the cells for a disease in hopes of a molecule of the disease remains in the liquid and that works as a "cure" for an illness. And think about it...What gets "watered" down on a patch for motion sickness? Don't waste your money.

For some ginger pills work to aid equilibrium. But not all and certainly not "ginger ale" which has no ginger in it. True ginger beer might work.

OTC motion sickness pill s do work. Some can lead to drowsiness. But you need to take them before sailing and before you get nauseated. If you wait, they don't work effectively.

And on a crusie ship, unless you're in a storm or heavy seas, there is less motion sensation than riding in a car over bumping roads or riding the subway.

So I guess it's safe to say you haven't even tried any natural remedies and you don't even know what patch I have. You can't say that a natural method won't work and not to waist my money. I feel I'd be wasting my money on a expensive Dr appointment. Just to be prescribed an expensive medication I may not even need to use.

Man people tend to get bent out of shape when you say youd rather try a natural rout than go with a prescription drug.

I may be waiting my money on the natural route, it may not work. But I don't know that, and to be honest I don't even know if I will need anything for motion sickness. But if rather throw away $10 rather than $100. Wouldn't you say?

  5. Don't be fooled by the "patches" on Amazon. They are not the prescription medicine that is prescribed by your doctor.
The "patches" on Amazon are natural or homeopathic. Not everyone wants to run to the Dr to get a prescription for every little thing. If I can use natural things to keep from getting sick I use them instead.

  6. Seeing I'm a planner and this is my first cruise in trying to make sure we have our excursions planned so I can make sure we have the money saved for them. I was kind of wanting an all inclusive day resort something similar t ok Mr Sanchos, but we are open to other activities as well. Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance.

  7. Just there two weeks ago Friday on Liberty of Seas. We were on the all inclusive side. It was a great day. The food was quite good and the drinks were good too. You have your own waiter who gets you anything you need. We tipped him pretty good, he was outstanding. You can eat or drink in a separate table in the shade. Everyone in your party gets a lounge chair in the sun. There are swimming pools with swim up pool bars. There's also some places to shop in the complex. My family all got Mr. Sancho T shirts. Jet ski rental, parasail, and banana boat rides are all next door. We did the jet ski's. It was $72 for half hour. I would recommend it. The beach and water is nice and clear, I didn't see much seaweed, just a little. Not as nice as beaches in the eastern and southern caribbean islands but it was very good.
Thank you so much. I'm thinking about just trying to relax on this cruise since it's our first one. There will be plenty other cruises we can do the fun excursions on. The hubby and I just need a break.

  8. A sore point with me with regard to HAL. Yes, a Catholic Priest is always aboard. But, for Jewish and Protestant guests, no official clergy any more. It used to be that on long cruises and always on Easter and Christmas cruises, clergy would be available to provide services appropriate for that holiday. On my Christmas New Year's cruise on the Zaandam in 2017, guests had to organize their own services if desired. While I appreciated what was done by those who did so, it was not the same for me and I won't attend any more such organized services in the future.
I agree, I am Catholic and am happy there is a Priest is on bird, but they should have some sort of multi Faith service for those who want to attend whole on vacation and especially during holidays. Now for me in going to have to attend confession before we go to see what my Priest wants us to do seeing we will be missing mass.

  9. HAL is the only one of the major mass-market lines to have a clergyman onboard all the time, a Catholic priest. Other lines, like RCI and MSC will have priests onboard for holy days. Most ships will provide a space for passengers to hold their own services if desired, some do this automatically, some only if requested at guest services, check the daily planner. Some ships will have services led by lay members of the crew, but only on a volunteer basis.
    Thank you

  10. Dumb question. I have only sailed with Carnival once about 9 years ago. I know I have a VIFP number but that's it. What level of VIFP receives a gift? What are the different levels?
Look on the carnival website under the vifp, there's 4 levels can't really recall what they are, but the website will tell you.
