    Hi

It always comes down to how you explain to your children the difference between stealing a little and stealing a lot. The main thing is not getting caught, right.

I know, I know, we all speed.

No, the main thing is doing what’s right, but degrees matter. It’s pretty obvious to anyone that robbing a bank at gun point is much worse than shoplifting. That doesn’t mean that shoplifting is okay.

Don't fight the battle, you will never convince some to do the right thing if they think they can get away with it.

While they may not overtly steal things they will pick up that camera you left behind for a minute or pocket that lost wallet found on the ground just as they will scheme a shake for someone else to avoid paying. Same type person.

Those are not remotely the same.

I think it is time for Carnival to make it near impossible to remove the gratuities. I have read all of the excuses people give and I believe they are just looking for a reason to not tip:

    1. The crew doesn't get the tips (do you really think that after all this time, we would not have heard this?0

    2. I like to tip in cash (yeah, and I am sure you track down the laundry people and those at the Lido Buffet to tip them)

    3. I think tipping should not be mandated

    4. Insert another reason here:  the crew doesn't speak English, I didn't get a chocolate on my pillow, I only got a Lanyard, etc.

Please if you are just looking for a way to stiff the crew, be honest and just say "I want to keep my $14.00.

So, you’re basically saying that we should stop pretending that tips are tips.

More often than not when you hear about "picky eaters," especially on sites like this, it is the most ridiculous reasons. I'm not saying everyone should eat what Andrew Zimmer eats, but some people are just ridiculous. Maybe it's me

We all have all sorts of ridiculous reasons for various things that we do.

It's been said that while X caters to the baby boomers, HAL caters to the greatest generation (i.e, their parents)

Catering to people who are over 90 seems like a questionable business plan.

I expect that this is where cruising is headed. The lido buffet, Guys and Blue Iguana being free and everything else being for a fee. This would not stop me from cruising, but I would expect fares to stay low in this model.

That would definitely stop me from cruising on Carnival.

+1 Until it's recent drydocking, the TVs on the Pride were the old tube TVs that didn't even have HDMI ports.

As for why they disable the HDMI ports, my guess is they don't want people that don't have a foggy clue about electronics (which is the majority of cruisers) playing with the wiring. No one knows for sure.

I would guess that they don’t want people bringing Roku sticks and complaining about the WiFi as well as making it worse.
