  1. I'm happy to report after consulting with the nana we are officially booked for lamanai. We have decided to put the girls in camp carnival 'extra charge for the baby' until noon. The nana will pick up the girls until we return to the ship. I'm so excited! Thank you all so much. You all really helped. I suppose I needed someone unattached to the situation to say just do it.On a plus, I found an exact match on 3rd party site to price match, that will save us $50 perperson.

  2. I am So on the fence. Since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to see the ruins. We are traveling with mom, and stepdad, hubby, and my 3 girls ages 1, 4, and 10. My mom offered to keep the girls so he, and i can do an excursion together. Now my dilemma, all the excursions are So long, and so far away. I dont know rather to just stay on the ship and book a couples message, or choose an excursion 'that I feel would almost be taking advantage of my mom' for such a long period of time. We are doing Mr. Sanchos in cozmel so ruins are out of the question there.

Any advice, or other 'shorter excursion' suggestions?

We are sailing carnival magic, if that makes any difference.

  3. I've been extremely lucky, and someone has offered to transfer their $100,000 ultimate slot tournament invite to me for the magic Sept 30th sailing. I have never participated in a slot tournament, and I'm very excited, but have so many questions now.

    1. Is there a fee to enter, or is that what the invite covers?

    2. Is the ultimate invite only, or can you pay to join? If in fact question #1 is free with invite.

    3. Do the points earned count to your sign and sail players club?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated from those who have participated in this particular slot tournament. I've tried googling, but my specific questions are not answered.

  4. We will be making the same drive, lol. We are in winter garden, sailing magic sept 30th. Can I ask what hotel you chose? We are consideringdriving up the day before, but prices I've found seem outrageous.

I've driven numerous times from Central Florida to Miami (about a 4 - 5 hour drive) and haven't had any problems, but I am always nervous that something is going to go wrong - having major car trouble in the middle of nowhere on SR 60, running into a bad accident, or worse getting into even a fender bender myself on the Turnpike. It can take forever to get law enforcement on the scene.

I will be sailing out of Miami in October and this time I got one of the stay and park hotels near the airport. It will basically cost the same as parking at the port, and will only have to add in the cost of a taxi (or uber) to and from the port. I just want to avoid the stress and be able to relax the night before the cruise. Looking forward to it.

  5. Oh my gosh, we will be on magic as well. We are on deck 10, and I believe have the deck with hottubs a few decks below. Still quite a fall. I know its extremely unlikely. That would be one of my worst nightmares. I actually looked up statistics of people falling overboard before I booked.

I'm so crazy I booked a balcony on deck 6 of Magic that has the extended deck 5 below. I saw a news story where a kid fell from one of those and only broke an arm or something. I was worried about our 5 year old.

  6. I opted out of the cove and went with a regular balcony. I have a 3 year old who wouldnt be able to see over, the regular balcony has glass. I dont want her to try and stand on a chair, or have to pick her up to see. So for us it was more of a safety issue. I know it's not the easiest to fall over, but I cant help my mind going there. Better safe than sorry.

  7. That is fantastic, I would have never thought of asking. My mom has our baby in her cabin, but she will be sleeping with us. Her husband goes to bed around 7, and she is going to babysit a few nights for us. If I have an extra key made she can come, and go with the baby, and put her to bed. Thank you for the heads up.

What we did was when got on board we went to guess services and had an extra keys made to unlock your door the two cabin doors. So, those passengers that switched would have two keys one key to unlock their cabin door and the other (there personal key) would be their sign and sail key. It worked well.
  8. Ultimatelyif I could get it free through carnival, I would forgo the punch, and fish food the other company is offering.. Lol

If there is a difference they will use that as excuse to decline the guarantee. Has to be exactly the same.

BTW since private tours are usually van size while ship is busload why do it with cruiseline assuming private one is due to get back well before sail time?

  9. Is there anyone who has found cheaper excursions, and Successfully filed a claim?

I found a excursion of interest that carnival offers, but have found it much cheaper else where. The duration are both the same, both offering transport from the cruise terminal, pretty much everything is the same. The only differences between the 2 are

    1) the two stops on the excursion are in different order. Carnival goes to A, and B. Where the other goes to B, then A

    2) carnival has drinks for purchase, the other offers fruit punch

    3) the other also offers food to feed, carnival 'as far as I know' does not.

    4) carnivals excursion is stated from 9:30-12:30. The other site states tour begins at 12:30

Are the times, or other small differences a deal breaker for the guarantee? The core of the tours are the same. Anyone who has experience, I would love to hear your input.
