  1. It's easy to book yourself either online or at the counter in the old port.  You will tender into the Old port of Thira. There are lots of small vendor selling boat trip tickets. We pre booked online and collected tickets from the counter. It included the speed boat to Oia and the bus ticket back to Thira.  Of our group of eight, five of us did the beautiful Caldera walk back along the coastal path, about 10K, it will bring you back into the Old Town by the cable car. The grandparents got the bus. We walked down the 350 steps to the old port, as there was an estimated wait for the cable car of 90 mins. The walk down is not recommended for anyone infirm, you via with donkeys passing and it's in full sun and cobbked steps. Five people missed the ship and had to be flown to Athens to catch up, so don't delay getting the cable car down.

The following year, we got tickets at the counter for the three islands trip, it was an excellent option. First trip was about 20 euros each and the 2nd 30 euros.

@Homestyle Used to be that these good will gesture OBC's would reapplied to the reservation if you were to move it.

If it were me I wouldn't wait until they cancel these reservations.  I'd try to have them moved to your new  desired sailing (with no penalty of course if it's NRD).   Then you can ask that they retain the old good will gesture OBC and add the new one.    You were inconvenienced twice.

Thank you. Yes, I may have done this in the past. This booking cost my 60% more than the Eclipse cancelled booking. I'm not prepared to pay even more for a new one. I have a Christmas trip coming up on the Millennium. There has been so many negative comments about changes, that i think I'll wait and see if I will be sailing Celebrity again after that.

  3. We had our South American repositioning cruise cancelled for next April, as the Eclipse is being sent over to Europe I think. Instead of the Chili to Los Angeles trip, they shortened it and are going Chile to Argentina direction and the crossing the Atlantic into Europe. So if Milli is being re-deployed, things could change on the last trip.

It is always a good idea to check the pricing pre-cruise.   They have both a first night discount as well as sales pre-cruise.

Example of 1st night Discount -  they apply tip at checkout

Wouldn't recommend. We did this last cruise, we were 45 mins late being seated, they were under so much pressure the food and service were compromised. We didn't get our main course until nearly 10pm. We should have complained, but we let it go. Even with the discount, it's a lot to pay for not 100% satisfaction. I love Murano, but there's a limit to what I'd pay for a family of four. Two cruses booked Dec 2023 and Feb 2025. Dread to think what it will be like by then after all the price hikes and cost cutting. I'll not book anything else, might be time to look at other holiday options in the future.

  5. I am from the UK. When I booked my upcoming trip a couple of weeks ago, I was told by Celebrity that it included Best Price Guarantee. I will be watching the prices over the next 12 months till our trip.

  6. The main point was, I have come home and double checked as I sure we had drinks, WiFi and Grats. On thes ship they said no, called shoresidea and they said no. Now I will have to try and reclai  the Auto Grats added to our onboard account and charged rto my credit card.

Thank you. Just came off the Eclipse, originally booked and lifted and shifted twice due to Celebrity cancellations. Challenged it at guest services and was charged daily grants on room account.  Called through to celebrity HQ and was told not included. Have now paid on check out. Will email/call to get a refund or do a charge back through Amex I suppose.

Has something changed in the last couple of years?

With UK bookings we don't benefit from the ability to reprice an existing reservation, but in the past it has been possible to change to a higher grade cabin and pay the price difference between the original reservation and the current price of the cabin.

Just called in to do that as prices had fallen with the current promotion so was going to move from Veranda to Concierge and was told it was not possible and would have to cancel the existing reservation, lose the deposit, and rebook at the current price...

I had this last week. Email my Celebrity booker and pushed for OBC. Having been denied the first two emails he supervisee agreed the OBC.

The best price guarantee or the new equivalent still come into play. We are now 46 days away from sailing. Call back and speak to someone else.
