  1. Okay, my speculation may be off. The Edge cruise planners just added Le Petit Chef as an option for pre-booking. They have been saying since the beginning that Le Petit Chef would only be available 1-2 nights of each cruise so it was surprising to see it offered every night at 6:00 and 8:00.

It looks like, at least for now, Le Petit Chef will take over Le Grand Bistro every night. Maybe because it has been so well-received on other ships, they decided to run it every night. Not a big deal in this case, since we can enjoy Le Grand Bistro for lunch so it doesn't completely take away a specialty dining option. Maybe they will run it every night until the demand drops off (if it does) and then go back to the 1-2 times a week original model on the Edge (and maybe on the other ships).

Only problem is the non flexible menu. But good food and fun if you sit with a larger group.

  2. Just sailed on the Equinox and had a great experience eating gluten free. Each evening my waiter would go over the next night's menu with me and make recommendations. (We were in Blu) They were extremely accommodating. We had dinner in Tuscan one evening and they were also very helpful. The bread they serve is actually the same bread that I use at home so that was also a plus. Each day in the buffet there were also gluten free desserts. Some of them were amazing. I did not have any problems with food what so ever.

I too am gluten free and have had the same experience on 3 other celebrity ships. Very accommodating. Lucious desserts. As long as you tell wait staff prior to ordering. Great gluten free pizza and pasta on buffet.

  3. My motto is THANK HEAVENS FOR LUGGAGE WITH WHEELS! I always slightly overpack on the clothing, but have cut back until our last cruise. On that cruise, instead of flying to our embarkation port in FL, we decided to drive. Not having to consider the weight of our luggage, or where we packed what unleashed the beast! When deciding between options as we packed, instead of choosing, we repeatedly said TAKE BOTH! This next cruise, I'll go back to my list. When I unpack, I write a list of what we wore. That will be the basis of what goes into the suitcase. Any new purchase will replace something on the list and not be "in addition to" the list.

What I will continue to overpack is medications and those things that I hope we won't need, probably won't need, but will be happy I have them in case we need! That's an iron clad list that never varies, never is subtracted from, and only gets additions. The additions happen as we get older. If we go on vacation and need something medication wise that we don't have and have to purchase, it gets added to the list that permanently lives inside our luggage. It makes packing easy on the brain and much quicker!

We are with you on the meds.

We will be on B2B then 18days touring NZ and Australia on a land tour. Talk about packing different clothes for different types of travel and weather
