I'm definitely not a germaphobe but I've seen plenty of pretty gross behavior at the buffets and I'd rather eat with clean hands. It's as simple as that.

I've been a cook (on land) for the last 18 years and while I agree that people are gross and when I'm at work I wash my hands and keep everything sanitary. When I'm off work and just out living my life i am not a fan of all the super sanitation and I take the George Carlin approach to germs. My immune system is strong AF and I never get sick.

  2. I was worried until i got the call saying i was negative yesterday. But i was also not really concerned because if i had tested positive it would've been 10 days of free vacation time and i could sit at home and play video games instead of going to work. I mean yeah it would suck to have to cancel my cruise especially since it was almost free after counting my OBC.

But that's life and as long as people continue to freak out over the rona instead of moving on with their lives the stress and crap isn't gonna stop for those type A people that stress over everything.

Unvax need pcr test which is taking 48hr+.

The PCR test only takes a couple hours, I went in this morning at 9 am and got my nose assaulted by the swab and got my result at 1030.

I dono where you are that makes a test take long but in my experience until I got the shots in Sep I had to get a PCR test every month, and even when we had 3,000 people getting tested at the same time results were back in an average of 5 hours.

  4. the concept of "paying double" for a solo traveler always annoyed me. Most people will be traveling with a spouse or BF/GF and the total price is about the same. The way i see it is if you travel as a couple its more of a BOGO deal than double price for solo.

Like if i was to find a GF and take a cruise together it would still cost the same amount if i went alone. Actually it would cost more if i brought someone because of port fees and taxes

You can purchase it when onboard, but the price increases 10%.

Yeah but 10% isn't that much considering how like 90% will be paid for with my OBC

Yes, you can buy it onboard.

Incidentally, it's not technically unlimited. There is a 15 drink per day limit. Which to me is as good as unlimited. But to a lot of people that apparently is a limit they reach.

Yeah I do t think I'll hit 15 a day but it would be nice to have the option.

Any idea how would I go about buying it once onboard?

  7. I love to drink and the cheers package for unlimited drink package seems like a great deal. You only need to drink 5 drinks a day to make it more than worth it.

Everywhere I look on the carnival page talks about buying the package before sailing. Well I have $300 in onboard credit and it sure would be awesome to use that for the package.

Once I board is it possible to buy the drink package? Because $300 will only buy like 4 drinks a day. If so where do I need to inquire about that once onboard.

  8. So I did the upgrade to the balcony.

I called them up to do it because I wasn't sure about the decks and whatnot. They offered me a room on the 9th but that was directly below the pool and crap. So we found a good one on the 8th that is away from crap like that.

Hopefully it was a good choice, but for the price it was hard to pass up.

Although since it's just me as I'm a single traveler there will be more than excessive amount of space in the room 🤷‍♂️😎

  9. I am on the 6 day Carnival Panorama to Mexico on 18 Dec and I have an interior room booked and paid for and it was only $300 not per person, total.

Today carnival sent me an offer to upgrade to a balcony for an extra $180.

Is it worth it? Like its just me nobody, with me and it seems like it would be a nicer room all fancy with a balcony and whatnot, but I dono how much time I'll even be spending in the room to bother with it.

It seems like a pretty good deal which is why I ask y'all as people that have been on more cruises than myself.
