  1. Does classic include espresso coffee drinks? That did not seem clear?  We booked with the all inclusive plan, my husband does not drink, but drinks lots of specialty coffees.  Now I’m not sure it’s included, which seems odd since it’s less $$

They haven’t updated that part because they are NOT  updating that part.

For obvious  reasons you refuse to see the reality.

Testing and ONLY testing protocols have been tweaked. Vaccine protocols remain as they have been, until the next update in the coming weeks.

I don’t know why you keep bringing up that ships have had unvaccinated on them; we all know that. Predominately unvaccinated children, that pool has NOT been expanded with this announcement.

I called yesterday, and was told for USA departures, not going to Canada or Bermuda, you don't even need to file for exemption anymore to cruise as an ADULT unjabbed. They said they are cruising with, "a higher % of vaccinated guests than that the general population". (which in the USA roughly 66% of the population are considered fully vaccinated, US Coronavirus vaccine tracker | USAFacts

I was told that they could tell me at time of booking if that sailing was eligible to book for nonjabbed, or if it had hit the capacity.

Per their own message, it sounds like very soon, as long as the local countries a ship is visiting, they plan to move away from restrictions.  "As we begin to transition to a point where everyone, regardless of vaccination status, will be able to sail with us once again, we continue to work closely with our destination partners."  🥰🥰

Yes we did purchase train tickets in both directions. and you will not have a problem finding a taxi at the train station. Just look for others there to share the cost. and the 4:28pm is the train we took in florence back to Livorno.

    Thanks!! Good to hear!

I was in Livorno on July 4th and would not rely on the shuttle the cruise line arranges to go to the train station. no guarantee it will arrive for you to catch the early train to Florence which we did catching the 8:12am train but we had to take a taxi to get there in time. The flat rate for a taxi from the ship to the train station is 25 Euros. Same price from station to port. So ask around to see if others are going to train station as well and then split the cost. Price doesn't change.

As to where they are located it can vary. so once off the ship, stop and look closely at all the signs. We missed it the first time because the taxis themselves couldn't be where the sign is and there were no drivers there when we disembarked.

Did you purchase your train tickets in advance? and if so, did you buy your return tickets ahead of time as well? We are hoping to take the earliest train available to have the most time in Florence.  We will plan to take a taxi from the ship to the train station, hopefully with another couple!

Thoughts on taking the 4:28pm train back, which gets back at 5:48pm, if the ship is leaving at 7pm? I assume all aboard is 6:30pm? Or is transport back from the train to the port not that quick?

    Thanks!

Making their deckplans clear is not  high on RC's priority list.

As someone who has sailed many many many days on the Explorer of the Seas (she was also our "first"), I can offer you firsthand knowledge of what these facilities look like on Decks 6, 7 & 8.  🙂

Ha, isn't that the truth!  I trust your experience for sure!  I feel pretty good with my knowledge of a few of the ships but have never been on explorer. 🙂

  6. Looking for info on anyone who has done Cinque Terre from the port of Portofino. Royal has two options, both fairly expensive.  Would love to know if this is something we could do on our own?  Or Does anyone have any tour companies they recommend? I have searched cruisecritic, google, trip advisor, and am having quite a bit of difficulty finding things.  Searches keep turning up excursions TO Portofino, instead of FROM.

    Thanks!!

I did this with about 6 other members from our CC group back in 2010, this is thee only way to go if you have the people to pull it off. We ended up paying $18 a pop, for everything(day pass to the resort and a very nice room) to keep our stuff and take a shower and change into dry clothes before we went back to the ship. It was nice, price couldn't be beat. Our group leader went up and paid for the room I walked up to her and said "How much do I owe you?" she looked at me and said "about $18" I thought she was kidding or leaving something out, nope it was $18 for everything. Best deal ever.

Yes great massage on the beach not to pricey either, the Marriott is nice.

Anyone know if there is a max # of people for this deal?  We are a group of 13, 6 adults and 7 kids.

    Thanks!

  8. THANK YOU!!! Especially for the Adventure Ocean stuff!! I have one in AO and one in nursery, so I need to be ready to book nursery hours when we board :) One month to go!

What did you do in St. Martin?? We're ususally just Orient Bay sunbathers. But looks a little rough and heard traffic going there can be 60-90min. Would be fine for my husband and I, but not with a 2 & 4 year old.

  9. Just booked May 2019 myself on Freedom!! We’ve sailed on Adventure three times out of San Juan. Flights are a little more and a hotel is a little more than I can Hotwire in Florida however the itinerary is not to be beat!! Honestly the only reason we took a break from that route is because we were having kids, and adventure of the seas does not have a nursery. Next May my son will be five and my daughter will be three, so not only do they not need a nursery, they will be ready for a port intensive itinerary. If it is in your budget to spend just a little more I very highly recommend sticking with freedom and southern Caribbean. Freedom is one of my favorite ships so I am even more excited that it is moving to San Juan.

I actually was surprised at how much the state rooms were, because I used to get much better deals on adventure. But I have not looked at the southern Caribbean routes in a couple years. I’m hoping prices come down, or kids sale free promotion comes out before final payment.

My personal favorite stops in all the Caribbean are Antigua and Barbados. Hard to find a ship out of Florida going to Barbados!

  10. The only "Perk" that you are likely to see is a casino VIP sticker on your Sea Pass, which gets you free beverages while in the casino and the 5% fee is waived when drawing $$ from your Sea Pass.

Based on your play DURING the cruise, you may see a perk delivered from the casino to your stateroom, in the past I've received red/while white, bottles of prosecco, chocolate covered strawberries, fruit trays etc!

On a side note, I briefly remember seeing a sign on the non smoking side of the casino on the Allure that guest receive free drinks while actively gaming (regardless of sticker on sea pass). I do recall that was during the evenings when table mins were at least $25, but that could have just been my imagination!

Good Luck and win lots on your cruise!

Thanks! My husband (the only one who plays in the casino) already has the drink package. And he better not take more out based on the cash he’s bringing [emoji12]. I’d gladly take advantage of any wine / chocolate strawberries etc. haha. Makes me wonder about our last cruise, I ordered room service and it came w free chocolate covered strawberries. Didn’t say where they were from, I assumed the kitchen just had extra? Maybe they came from the casino? Or is there a note normally?
