LandC - thanks so much for posting this info, as it's very timely! I'm also on the Black Sea cruise, with 2 nights hotel in Athens, and flying from Montreal in 2 day, May 1. No one has called me yet, but it's only 7 am. I'll follow-up with my TA this morning. Very disappointing, as I expected their 3 days in Athens would have addressed the ship engine issues. However, I'd rather have a cancelled cruise, than a 'sea days' cruise. 

Have any of ALG’s non-British customers been contacted yet by DISCOVER THE WORLD?

 

 

They represented Voyages of Discovery and Swan Hellenic in the following markets: Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, and USA. They recently deleted ALG’s brands from the client list on their website. The website is discovertheworld .com.

The USA office, Discover the World, sent an email to passengers with bookings (one email per booking number) on January 12. An excerpt read:

'Please be aware the we are currently researching the process to be followed for passengers and travel agents and will reach out to you with more information once it is available.' I followed-up yesterday with the office, and they have no further updates or time estimate when the process will be available.

I phoned the US office, and they have no further information on the situation. However, my friend called the UK office, and the agent responded they there were meetings today and more information should be available to share with us in a few days (possibly 1-2).

I'm booked on Minerva, sailing Jan 17 from Tenerife, and it too is cancelled. I will receive the letter next week on next steps and options. My friend from the UK was booked on a Jan 4 sailing on Voyager for 4 weeks, and she received her letter that the her cruise is cancelled. It appears that January cruises are cancelled, but no reason why.
