  1. We have a cruise booked on the Enchanted Princess next January and purchased the Plus Package.  The cost of the package has since increased ($50 to $60 per person/day). According to my travel summary, it says not all of the current perks listed now will apply to our package.  From what I can see, we would not get the 2 casual dining meals, and it also doesn't list OceanNow or room service delivery.  What I'm wondering - would we have to pay the activation fees for these services (OceanNow and room service delivery)?  We don't really care one way or the other about the casual dining meals, there's plenty of other food options available so I doubt we'll starve. 😆

I understand that Princess is free to make any changes to their product they choose, but I really feel the way they did this was a huge PR blunder.  Nothing is really clear and it leaves many of their future passengers (including me) scratching their heads and wondering how much of the package they purchased are they actually going to get?

They had non-alcoholic wine onboard at the bars as well as  “zero-proof” mocktails so it must be available in MDR. Also these are available in my April 2023 voyage to pre-purchase:

    > Martinelli’s Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Cider 750ml Sparkling Apple Cider $12.98

    > Sutter Home FRE Non-Alcoholic White Zinfandel 750ml California $18.88

Thank you so much!  It's nice to know there are at least some options.  I appreciate the info!

  3. Hi everyone, new Princess cruiser here with an unusual question.  I am currently taking medication that doesn't allow me to drink alcohol and I was wondering if anyone knows whether Princess offers a non-alcoholic wine option in the main dining room?  I love both the taste and "ceremony" of having wine with dinner and I'm hoping they have an option for folks like me, lol.  I appreciate all replies.  😊

    We've fully vaccinated but on a 20 day trip. (2 -10 day cruises- B2B)

I still don't know for sure how it'll be considered.

I'm hoping all restrictions will be lifted by the time we sail in Dec.

We're doing the same thing, on a 20 day cruise in January.  Like you, I'm also hoping the restrictions will be lifted by then.  It makes no sense that we would have to test when others going on the same cruise for 10 days would not.  I don't mind having to test, but I just wish they'd make it easier.  Either test everyone, or test no one.  I'm not really sure how effective the pre-embarkation testing is anyway, to be honest.

  5. This is so confusing, it says one thing in the FAQ, but it makes no mention of cruise length on the vaccine and testing requirement page.  If it still applied, I would expect to see it under "Voyages with Enhanced Guidelines" but cruise length is not listed.

After Sept 6 if your Caribbean cruise is less than 16 days and you are vaccinated no test is required. Upload your Covid vaccination card in the Medallion app and also bring it to the cruise terminal to show at check in.

here is the link to the Princess FAQ https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/vaccine-testing-requirements/

Covid rules may change before your sailing so you may want to check the Princess website for any changes a couple of weeks prior to your voyage.

It actually doesn't say anything about cruise length anymore.  If you're fully vaccinated, testing is not required.  There are some exceptions, such as full Panama Canal transits, voyages which stop in Canada or Greece, etc. when you will still need to do a pre-cruise test.  This was updated on the Princess website on August 24th.

Chill, dudes, what's all the excitement about? Saint Nick and his reindeer buddies are still hours away!

Lol, Fouremco, we used to have a delightful little Havanese named Riley who loved to sleep on the back of our couch exactly like your little fur-buddy in the photo.  Brings back some warm, happy memories.

Best wishes to everyone for a very happy Holiday, stay safe and well!  Thanks to all for contributing to this post, it's been very informative and actually very calming during a time of chaos, conflicting reports and a lot of disinformation.  It's been great to come here and get some insights without the hysterics.  Thank you.

  9. Neither my husband or I would have any problem complying with these policies.  As many have already mentioned, it's really just part of the "new normal" of our everyday lives here at home.  I'm loving all the pictures and information you're providing Miaminice, and I just wanted to thank you again for taking time away from your holiday to do this for us!

  10. I looked forward to every new post! Dana, you did a marvelous job! We're taking the same cruise in April, and I've learned so much from reading your review...thank you so much! I can't imagine how much time and energy it took to put this together...both during and after your cruise!

    THANK YOU!:D

I couldn't agree more! We're also taking this cruise in April and your review has me very excited about it! We've never been to the majority of the ports and after reading about your experiences I feel ready to make some good choices for our excursions. Thank you so much!

  11. We've only been on 3 cruises, but our favourites were:

#1 - Oceania ~ hands down the best food we've had on a cruise ship, and even better than many land-based restaurants we've tried. From the MDR to the Specialty restaurants, to the Lido, it was always amazing. The ship (Regatta) was beautiful; small and intimate and hubby and I loved the "country club casual" dress code. The staterooms, though small, were well laid out and the bed was more comfortable than our bed at home, LOL. Service was extremely attentive without being obtrusive. They lose points for entertainment though, evenings were often rather quiet. We also thought the bar prices were a bit steep.

#2 - HAL ~ Our last cruise was on the Noordam, on a B2B Caribbean Wayfarer/Seafarer in 2009. We loved our experience on HAL! The food was very good (although not as incredible as Oceania), our stateroom was very comfortable and service was excellent. Everywhere we went, we were greeted (often by name) and it just seemed the crew couldn't do enough for us. We believe one of HAL's great strengths is it's people. There was a greater variety of entertainment compared to Oceania, but nothing that knocked our socks off.

#3 - Celebrity ~ X comes in last for us, but not because we had a bad experience overall. It was our first ever cruise (on the Zenith) and we were so excited about it. The food on X was great and service was pretty good, but I hated our cabin. We had a tiny little OV cabin with twin beds that couldn't be configured to a queen. The mattress on that little bed was one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever tried to sleep on and as a consequence, by the end of our 10-day cruise I was seriously sleep-deprived. Hubby was ok because I honestly believe he could sleep on a rock if need be. That aside, I'd be open to trying Celebrity again. The Zenith has since been retired and I've been eyeing a possible future cruise on the Equinox.

We'd definitely sail with O and HAL again and I'd love to try Princess one day. :D
