Do you need to have advance reservations to Chankanaab?  I went to their website and tried to do a mock reservation and it came up that there was no availability for my date January 2020

We didn't need reservations, just purchased general entrance tickets at the front gate when we arrived by taxi. We didn't do any of the "extra" activities though. We rented snorkel equipment and purchased food/drinks from vendors inside the park as needed.

  2. Thank you so much for the detailed review! We are sailing this exact itinerary on the Breeze at the end of the Summer with FTTF. Lots of info that will definitely be useful for our trip. Can't think of any questions right now but will be back here if I do. THANKS!!

    Thanks, everyone.

The Phoenician steps was more of an A to B that I thought could be enjoyable.  What you've outlined above is exactly what I as coming across - the need to back track to Marina Grande in order to try to do both attractions.  One of the tourist boat companies I emailed also told me they wouldn't be able to guarantee that we could get off at the Blue Grotto and stay on land at Anacapri.

We are there in mid May - so hopefully lines aren't terrible, but it sounds like we might just do Mount Solaro and leave time for shopping in Capri town.  Makes for a more relaxing day.

We were in Naples on a cruise May 1st last year. We chose to DIY to Capri for the day. We debarked in Naples as soon as we were able and bought a ticket to the earliest "fast" ferry available. Once we arrived at Marina Grande I immediately stopped at the ferry ticket counters and bought our return tickets. We then grabbed a taxi to take us to the entrance to the chair lift for Mount Solaro. Was worth the visit...beautiful views up there. When we came down the chairlift we grabbed another taxi and went to Capri town. Once there we walked to the Gardens of Augustus. I think there was a small fee to enter the gardens. We had a quick pizza lunch in Capri town afterwards and then took the funicular down to Marina Grande to catch our ferry back to Naples. Capri town was quite crowded but still worth seeing. Other than buying a Christmas ornament there I cannot comment on the shopping. We would have liked to have done the Blue Grotto but realized early on while planning trying to do both the Grotto and Mount Solaro was too much. One or the other was the best decision for sure. 🙂

Great! Thank you. Yes I’m dying to see inside and out. So with your positive feedback I’ll be buying tickets ASAP as we sail in late May. We are doing our own thing too, I think hop on and off with several Gaudi experiences.

FYI: The web site says there are restorations going on until May. Just wanted you to be aware in case they are still ongoing when you are there late May. I hope you enjoy your visit and cruise! 🙂

  5. We toured the inside of Casa Battlo on our arrival day in Barcelona. Very unique building. My photos do not do it justice! I thought it was worth the time and money. We purchased "open date" tickets online in advance. We did this on our own, not as part of a tour.

  6. We stayed in 8316 on the Allure. It is a balcony cabin that had both a sofa bed and one pullman. The legend on the deck plans shows a diamond symbol. There are some ocean view cabins on deck 3 of the Oasis that have a diamond shape symbol. Wondering if the bed configuration may be comparable to this. Our children cannot share a sofa bed so we booked this configuration. It was a snug fit walking past the sofa bed when open but still was better than the kids sharing the sofa.

  7. I was there in 2012. Fantastic day with great snorkeling. Rented equipment and a locker for the day and relaxed in the shade of a palapa when not in the water. Planning to go there again while on a cruise next year. Hoping the snorkeling is still as good as it was back then.
