  1. You actually can't make a reservation on line- you have to call in ... (441) 293 0640

We don't dock until 12:00 the first day... so Ithought I'd make my reservation for 2:30. This will give us time to get there by ferry

They say it takes 1-1.5 hours to tour the caves [ they close at 4:30. ]

Crystal Caves Bermuda ... if you want to Google it

I just called them to make our reservations and they won't make one until 2 weeks before.

  2. Thanks so much for all your effort and insight in Posting.

We are booked for our first MSC cruise [ Divina- Transatlantic in April] and appreciate your honest review. We have been getting a bit nervous with all the bad reviews🤪

We have never had a "Bad" Cruise... some we have liked more than others... but love trying all the different Lines and are really looking forward to this one.

Thanks again for letting us all follow along on your journey!

You don’t need an inverter for iPads, iPhones (and their android counterparts) just fyi. As I learned when doing the ”research” for this trip they are made ‘dual-voltage’ so you only need an adapter …

Yes , one inverter seems enough... I just need it for my hair "tools" LOL

Copper, we are in the same TA sailing. Our fifth time on Divina, we love this ship and the YC crew is fantastic.

Divina usually uses Pier C. The YC drop-off tent is just as the cars enter into the Pier  C drive (so you see it first).

We have found Uber/Lyft to be the best for Miami transport but not sure from Hollywood.

One piece of advice is to bring 2 or 3 plug adapters so you can use the several European receptacles in your room that would otherwise go to ‘waste’. Divina is older so not enough receptacles and no dedicated USB ports.

Great advice . I do have one Adaptor and an Inverter - perhaps I should get another.

We are not in YC - Do "we peasants " get dropped off in the same area . Wink Wink😁

  5. Really looking forward to following along on your Journey. Thanks so much for posting.

We are sailing on the Divine in April for her TransAtlantic voyage . First time with MSC  - so I'm reading everything I can .

Could you tell me what dock area to get the Uber to drop us at the Miami Cruise Port?

We are also staying in Hollywood, Fl the night before and were wondering if anyone had any suggestions of transport from their to Miami Cruise Port?

  6. We were they last April. We were there when they opened and had approx 30 min wait. WE LOVED the whole experience ! Please do this... you won't regret it.

We took the Gondola up to the top [ amazing views] and walked the 2 min to the Ride.

Why do you need a tour to go to Mendenhall.  Just take a city bus.  Really easy solution.

    DON

It's my understanding that there are only so many permits issued to visitors for the year. That quota has been met! So you can't just take a cab there and buy a ticket... they are all gone.

This is what a tour operator told me when I called last week.

I had a lengthy discussion with the owner of Blue Bus yesterday. I was in shock when she told me that they only get a certain amount of passes for the Glacier and they and other tour companies have exceeded their limit. They have none left at all to sell! She said that she and her partner have been crying for a week because their tourist season/ income is now done!

They have requested to the gov't for more passes but say it probably won't happen! She said if there are any more for the ship we are on - I had better grab them. I DID just yesterday.

My thoughts were ...that we will go for the Ship excursion but if we want to stay longer- we will just call a cab to come and get us at the end.

Keep in mind we have light until approx 7:30 at that time of year in Alaska

  10. We just sailed on the The Discovery Princess in May and LOVED their new Ap and Medallion for ordering such things. We had a couple of rough days at sea and were playing cards in one of the bars. it was packed at the Bar so we decided to try out the Ap and order two drinks as well as potato chips. The order was there in a flash... much faster than waiting at the Bar - or for a Server to come to the table.

Oh- and the  chips were great! 😆

It is less than 20 miles, so it shouldn't be more than 30 minutes, but there are a lot of things in So Cal that shouldn't be, but are. As said, if it is a holiday weekend, or an accident, or someone is changing a tire by the side of the road.....  it can be 90 minutes. That is rare, but hardly unheard of.

    Thanks so much.

While we are at it. any suggestions for a hotel in San Pedro or Long beach that is "reasonable" yes is close to eateries and such?
