  1. We're going on the Sky later this year and will be in a balcony cabin. Anyone who has been on since she came out of drydock have pictures of the return. Looking to see what changes were made to the staterooms and ship over all. Plenty of videos and pics online from before drydock, looking for new pics.

  2. We are looking at cabin 7730 on Allure for a family of 5 cruise.  For anyone who that has stayed in it with a family, what was it like?  Was there enough room for 2 parents and 3 adult children? Any issues with noise from rockwall or aqua theater?  Also being at the back of the ship was motion a problem?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I am looking at quotes for travel insurance for an upcoming cruise in March.  I've been searching on insuremytrip.com and came across TripAssure Advantage Asset Plan.  Anyone use TripAssure before? How reputal are they? Hoping to not have to use insurance, but don't want to make my final payment without purchasing a plan.

  4. And if one person in the cabin buys it, then all people in the cabin have to buy it!

We have 2 cabins for our March 2019 sailing. I'm going to switch my wife and daughter in the cabin so I only have to buy 1 package for me. Otherwise it's just too expensive, and my wife will only drink a glass or 2 of wine a day.

  5. Not that they really check, but technically speaking, the two permitted bottles of wine per cabin are for a cabin with someone 21 or older in it.

Unless you booked with wife in one cabin and husband in the other, *technically* you are allowed only two bottles.

But they almost never check anyway.

    Good luck. [emoji1]

My son and daughter in the other cabin will be 22 and 19 when we sail, so we will be all good. I'm still debating switching my wife and daughter in the cabin assignment so if I decide to get the drink package, I only need to buy the one for me.

  6. 2 connecting cabins is definitely a good idea for a larger family. The two washrooms and extra space is a no-brainer. Although the family JS on Anthem does have 1 1/2bath which is different from the other JS in the fleet.

We only had 4 in that cabin. 2 adults and 2 kids. 5 would have been crowded. We booked it because it was KSF and you have to be in the same room to take advantage of that and also because we like the additional C&A points and access to coastal Kitchen.

The 2 cabins is going to be nice. It will give the kids their own space, as well as for me and the wife. Plus the added bonus of 2 additional wine bottles on the second cabin for my wife to drink. This is first ever cruise, so don't know the difference yet for additional perk of coastal kitchen and extra points.

  7. Thank you all for the info. Being our first time cruising we have many questions. This is a great group were we've been able to get our questions answered or find the info from other posts. Definitely making the planning go along smoothly. Can't wait to actually get on the cruise with the family.

  8. We're going on our first cruise and my wife likes to have a glass of wine with dinner, bit doesn't drink enough to warrant buying the beverage package. I've read that RCI allows 2 bottles of wine to be brought onboard per stateroom and charges a corkage fee at the restaurants and bars to open bottle. Is this a one time fee for the first time the bottle is opened, or do you get charged every time they have to open the bottle at a different place? Can you avoid the fee if you open on your cabin for the first time and then bring to each restaurant throughout the cruise?

Thanks for the pics. I wasn't sure where the Pullman would come down from. I was hoping it would have been across from the couch, not over it. We just booked and we're able to find 2 connected balcony cabins instead. Kids in one and me and the wife in the other. Seems like a better plan for the same price.
