  1. The big car rentals companies all have shuttles that bring you to and from a downtown office which are only five minutes away. We hired a car at the budget Miami airport and returned to the budget office in downtown. After the cruise we rented a hertz car and took the Hertz shuttle from the port. The shuttles are running on and off the port. So you just have to look for a shuttle and do not need to agree on a specific time with the rental company. However you must have a reservation to use the shuttle.

Another option is to take a taxi to the Miami airport car rental center. They have more cars, more rental companies and nicer offices and you do not have to drive out of downtown Miami. However the airport is further and you have to pay for the cab.

  2. Wonder if Mariner of the Seas offers Voom Internet? I need it to keep in touch with work. Oasis has it and it works well.

I was on the Mariner 2 weeks ago. VOOM works ok. No ports blocked. I was able to use VPN to connect to work.

Internetspeed is ok. The only disappointing this is early on disembarkation day, I logged out of 1 device and tried to login again on another device as I have done in previous days but could not login anymore

  3. Our cruise stops a whole day at Nassau. We are looking into going to Aquaventure. However both via comfort inn or via an excursion by the cruiseline the price is very high. We go regularly to Orlando and often visit the waterparks. Also this year in the same holiday a visit to Orlando is planned. The price for Aquaventure is 2 to 3 times as much as the Orlando waterparks. I am curious how people that visited both, would rate Aquaventure vs like parks like Aquatica, Blizzard Beach, Tyfoon Lagoon, Vulcano Bay etc.

I know one difference is that you are near a beach, but I would like to know if there are more special things at Aquaventure that you do not see at other waterparks that justifies the extra price.

  4. Most of the cruise ships spend 5-10 hours on Nassau. They arrive early and leave around 17:00 pm or earlier.

However in my case we also arrive very early but leave around midnight. Most tours are for 3-4 hours, starting in the morning. I cannot find many trip ideas/reviews for a whole day on Nassau. Even the tours offered by RC linked to my cruise are only for a few hours.

I was thinking about the comfort inn option. Most people never go to their room, but maybe it is an idea to go to room after waterpark to shower/change and than explore the area. Is there anything to do for kids (12/13) after 17u.

Or any other idea for a whole day on Nassau.
