Just returned from a cruise with a 97 year old in the party - a fairly regular cruiser and not the most senior aboard who was a young 98 years! But as emphasised above do make sure you have travel insurance and that you discuss with your 93 years young's doctor that they consider them fit to travel. Have to say that the crew aboard were all superb in looking after their more senior (age wise) passengers.

Just back from the Sapphire Princess and found plenty of places to sit quietly - depending on the day, it may just mean looking around and not relying on the same place each day! Great ship. Enjoy!

Wondered if anyone had experience of using the Platinum Studio on-board ship? Know this is a black and white photo-shoot but could be a rare opportunity having the family together if the photographs and print quality would be good. Know I can proof the pictures, so real question I suppose is the quality of the prints then processed ashore.

Can confirm that Kettles were being rolled out on Sapphire Princess from Monday 6th August.

Depending on the time you have you could look at a train from Southampton to London.

The fastest journey time is 1 hour 14 minutes. On an average weekday, there are 96 trains per day travelling from London Waterloo to Southampton Central. The journey time may be longer on weekends and holidays.

Alternatively, consider the Isle of Wight - there is a ferry from Southampton, Stonehenge - probably a cab/taxi, unless there is a suitable tour, or the City of Winchester also easy to reach by train. I always think Windsor is a good option, but it is around one hour by car with a good journey and no traffic issues.

Could I do anything for them to have unsweetened almond milk on-board, or should I take my own?

Really depends on which terminal you are docking just how close you are. However all cruise terminals are fairly easy and safe access to West Quay. Unless the transfer is free and no queue, I would personally walk. You may be at the Ocean Cruise Terminal which is around a 20 minute walk and about 1 mile.

We are booked on the 2019 cruise and looking forward to it immensely. If there had been a similar itinerary in July or August at any time over the past few years we would have gone for that. We did a similar cruise some years ago (our favorite cruise in over twenty years of cruising) and the itinerary was absolutely excellent. Have been looking for a suitable cruise ever since and settled for "second best" elsewhere, albeit have enjoyed the ships and the cruises. The previous cruise we had an overnight in Iceland, but this time have two additional ports of call. If you have not been to Iceland and not seen the Fjiords then IMHO not to be missed.
