  1. two points of intrest carnival in america have some ships that were built in 1990 and 1991 etc wheras aurora and arcadio were built ten years or so later AND sadly the death rate in america with the virus is over 122,000 people so far and some of those must be cruisers

I would not be booking anything for November that you cannot cancel.

I am interested that your view of the first cruises is that they will not have long sea journeys.  I had assumed that the first trips would be “cruises to nowhere” where passengers board, enjoy the facilities of the ship and then disembark after a relaxing week.  The ship would lose important revenue in the form of tours but I cannot see any other way that they would cope with entering ports and potentially spreading the virus (to or from the port).

Not a great picture for my home town which gets income from cruise passengers but I don’t think many of us would want a sudden 3000 people entering for the day.

  3. Yes i think most ports around the world are going to be closed for a very long time, because the local people will not be happy for 1,000s of people to turn up in their town or city and when you look at how nasty it was in italy i dont blame them

  4. Hi when the government says we can sail again what would people think about a ship sailing from southampton direct to a private beach somewhere either in southern spain or in one of the cape verde islands and then the ship docking for 2 or 3 days and people being able to enjoy the beach and sun and then sailing direct to southampton.

  5. In the caribbean both carnival and Rci have im not sure if they are private islands or private beaches,so what if a ship sailed very slowly from southampton and went to a private beach either rented or owned by carnival or rci where the ship could dock for 72 hours or so and then very slowly travel back to southampton.People would have the choice of sunbathing  both on the ship and then the beach or im sure the ship could put on more daytime events for people who didnt want the sun. After all they would be saving money on all the port fees, the ship would be going slower so it would use less fuel and and they would not need any tour excursions people
