  1. We are taking a city tour with Alla Tours while in Stockholm.  The tour ends in Gamla Stan and we will stay in town after the tour is over at noon. We are wanting to go on a boat tour at 111 48 Stockholm (10 min drive according to Google map). We don’t know how to get there or how to get back to the ship. Any suggestions?

On Anthem this past week, we had priority disembarkation at 2 ports of call. None of them were tendered either. Not sure why the 3rd port there was no priority mentioned.

Thanks! Hopefully someone who has used The Key in Europe will see this and respond. Our private excursions pick us up shortly after arrival and those with booked Royal Carribean excursions disembark before anyone else is permitted to.

  3. Where exactly are you going in Manhattan? What do you want to see?

The hotel shuttle will drop you at the P4 Airtrain Station. Take the Airtrain to the Newark Airport station. Buy a ticket to New York Penn Station for $13/pp if you're going to midtown Manhattan. If you're going to downtown Manhattan (World Trade Center) buy a ticket to Newark Penn Station for $8.50 and transfer to PATH to the WTC for $2.75/pp.

Please note: there is no vehicle access to Newark Airpirt Station - you must take Airtrain.

Thank you! At the end of the cruise we are taking Royal Caribbean’s NYC tour. We will visit the WTC then. We have tickets to a show in Manhattan in the evening, so I think we will stay close by. I would like to go to the Museum of Natural Art. I’m not sure where that is.

  4. I am cruising on Anthem Sept 6th out of Newark. I have never been to New York and I am very nervous. We are arriving on Sept. 4th and staying at the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel in Elizabeth. We plan on spending the 5th in NYC, but I have no idea how to get there and back. I should have booked a hotel in Manhattan. It’s too late, my reservations are non-refundable. Oh yeah, the hotel does have a shuttle to and from the airport.

  5. As with other things, depends on the definition. Since there's nothing directly in front of the balcony, RCI calls it unobstructed. The lifeboats are in the way of seeing the water line directly at the side of the ship so some may call that obstructed.

I just called RC to see if they had any available cabins on a higher deck. They had several, but to switch to a cabin on deck 8 in the same category would cost us over $1000. I think that I will keep my cabin. :)

  6. My favorite spot so far has been just forward of the forward elevators on 6. No obstruction and very convenient to the stairs to go down to 4&5. Personally, I feel any of the cabins on deck 7 that are over lifeboats should be labeled obstructed, though they are not. The hallways are really long on Anthem. Being close to the stairs/elevators is a big advantage. Noise is not an issue.

Now I am worried. We will be in cabin 7206 in September. I paid for a non-obstructed balcony, will it be obstructed?:(

  7. We are taking the St John Cruise and Beaches excursion. When we get to St John we would like to take a cab to Trunk Bay. If the cab charges $6 per person to get there, do we also tip them? The description of the excursion is pretty vague. It says that we will have 3 1/2 hours of free time. How will we know when it is time to head back to the boat. What if there are no taxis?

  8. Several years ago we filled a suitcase with soda and checked it with the porters. When it arrived to our cabin we discovered that several of the cans head "exploded". The suitcase was soaked. The last time we carried on a suitcase full of soda. It did not fit through the X-ray machine, so they took it to a table and opened it. They saw that it was just soda and sent us on our way.
