  1. What I did on our cruise (we sailed 6/16 on the Bliss to Alaska) was bring a big box of candy bars from Costco. I dropped a couple off each time we dropped off or picked up our kids. My 3 year old struggled a bit (waited to play with big sister even though they weren't in the same age group, so then she wanted Mom) and there were a few outstanding counselors that went above and beyond for us in that regard. They got "extra special" pictures from my girls. Not monetary, but it still meant something.

The last night, two of the counselors pulled me aside and expressed their sincere gratitude for the treats. If they want a treat like that, they have to play full price in the ship gift shops or get off the boat and find them. For me, the $20 I spent on the box was well worth it. Just my 2 cents. :)

  2. The AJ dock - it's a bit further south of the other docks on the map - I've heard there's a shuttle that will go from the boat to the Mt. Robert's Tram area. I can confirm this next week or someone else may be able to jump on and confirm now.

  3. From there we headed off to the Sheraton to meet our tour guide, Cory, for a winery tour and visit to Snoqualmie falls. The Sheraton is just another 10 minute walk from the Pike Place Market and very close to the original Nordstrom’s department store. We must’ve passed 2 or 3 more Starbucks on our walk. It seems like there is one on every block!

I have to laugh at the Starbucks comment. I'm a WA native (live 2 hours north of Seattle). There is, indeed, just about one Starbucks on every block in Seattle! In other parts of WA, it's very common to see more than one coffee store on a block, just not necessarily Starbucks. We are passionate about our caffeine here! :)

  4. Thank you thank you thank you for the reviews and info! We are sailing in 25 days and I can't wait! Also currently browsing on Amazon for cruise shirts for my husband. (He and Dave would totally get along) Totally want to get matching family ones, but my 7 and 3 year old girls have NO CLUE they're going yet! A shirt would probably give it away. :D

Can't wait to see what's next.
