What are you plans after the cruise? Will you be spending any time in Seward? We've been to Alaska twice (5 years apart) and did a tour with Kenai Fjords Tours both times. We did the same tour twice because it was so good the first time. The tour was the 6 hour Kenai Fjords National Parks Tour. We saw A LOT of whales and also got to see glaciers and other gorgeous views within Kenai Fjords National Park.

On two different cruises we went whale watching in Juneau and Icy Strait.

In Juneau we took a bus 15-30 minutes from the cruise port, to where we then got on a 2 level boat for the excursion. We saw many whales.

In Icy Strait we got off the ship and immediately onto a boat a couple steps away. We also saw many whales and some bears on the beach.  The boat we were on held 20-30 people compared to the one in Juneau which held 50.  In Icy Strait our tour was combined with the zip line at a discounted price. You can do the whale watching on its own.

When we went both tours had some refund if you did not see whales.

thanks for the info did you use the cruise companies tour or independently

  3. We are doing a northbound cruise from Vancouver to Seward in September , it seems all places we stop offer whale watching as we will only be doing it once any ideas which port would be best , (i understand not guaranteed to see any)

    1.Juneau

    2.icy strait point

    3.sitka

    4.skagway

    5.seward

    Cheers from the UK

  4. I am on anthem now deck 11 connecting cabin have not noticed any difference in noise levels from a normal cabin, the connecting door is by main door.

It all depends on your neighbours 😏, a towel at bottom of door can help if you have noise issues or your steward can tape door also if you take magnetic hooks put them on door and hang hoodies or coat to help dampen sound

  5. Santorini is a tender port , the tenders got to a different area to drop you off ( they are run by a local company so very efficient) you then get the bus from there, when you return you will be at the top where the cable car is ( which if you have a RC tour they will provide you with a ticket one way only)

Or you could walk down its not to bad but very smelly due to Donkey crap everywhere .

If you are looking for a good restaurant on the harbour try Lombranos , i booked a table using facebook messenger the morning we arrived it was great

if you are visiting or disembarking in Greece, you have to have a test before you board the ship or do a test on the ship.

Makes no sense why we need to test as per there own government website, unless I am missing something 😀

    "Welcome to Greece!

From 15 March 2022 onwards, travellers visiting Greece are no longer required to fill out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF).

Additionally, as of Sunday 01.05.2022 and for as long as the epidemiological data allow so, all travellers arriving in Greece, regardless of their country of origin, are no longer required to display a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, or evidence of a negative test result from SARS-CoV-2 infection (PCR or Rapid Antigen test)."

Yesterday there were separate clauses specifically if your ship visited Greece then you still needed to test. Today those clauses on the Spain page have gone.
However on the Italy departure page the Greek test requirements is still there!

perhaps they have forgotten they have Spanish departures that go to Greece 🇬🇷

    Confused!

For All Sailings Departing on or after September 5, 2022 from Spain

Guests 12 years of age and older who are not vaccinated or not up to date with their vaccination, must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours before boarding day, or PCR test taken within 72 hours before boarding day, regardless of the duration of their cruise.

Guests who are up to date with their vaccination status must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours before boarding day, or PCR test taken within 72 hours before boarding day, on sailings that are 10 nights or longer only. Testing is not required for up to date guests on shorter itineraries.

    OR

Pre-cruise test requirements for sailings from Italy vary depending on itinerary.

    For sailings that visit Greece:

    • All guests age 12 and older, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to present a negative antigen test within 48 hours or a negative PCR test within 72 hours before your sailing.

    Usual RCCL confusion 😉😉

  8. Doing a cruise on the 19th September from Tarragona 9 night's , on the royal app it says we need a pre test but on the "getting ready to cruise" web page it states we don't.

    Testing Requirements

    All Guests: Required Pre-Cruise Testing

    • All guests age 12 and older who are not vaccinated, or are vaccinated but not up to date, must show a negative result for an antigen test within 24 hours or a PCR test within 72 hours before boarding day
    • Vaccinated guests who are up to date must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 3 days before boarding day only on sailings 10N and longer. A  test is not required on sailings of 9N or less for guests who are up to date with their vaccination.
    • Guests age 11 and under do not need to complete a pre-cruise test.

Required testing for all guests, regardless of vaccination status, can be completed using any type of PCR or antigen COVID-19 test. It can be professionally proctored at your doctor or drugstore, or it can be a test you administer to yourself at home without supervision.

We are visiting Greece and disembark in Athens , but Greece has no restrictions anymore including for cruise ships according to the Greek Government Website.

Anymore else embarking in Tarragona who might have an idea if we do or don't need a pre test, we are UK residents.

  9. We are flying into Miami International from the UK and wanted to know if anyone has an idea of best way to get to Cruise terminal(everglades) was looking at an Uber as it is only 30 miles away , but on an old post someone mentioned an airport transfer bus but could not find anymore info.

The price has dropped for the deluxe beverage package. When we paid we had a discount of £100 onboard credit we put towards this. Even with this discount it is £60.00 cheaper now than what we paid.

My question is…if I cancelled our original booking and bought the new one, would we get our £100 onboard credit back to put towards the new discounted price, which would make it been cheaper?
Also, we’re scared to cancel in case we end up paying more. Not sure how this works. Thanks for any help

Where are you cruising as all European cruises they have extended there £40 PP inc Grats but you would have to ring royal to get that price

  11. we got the local bus to Arashi Beach , got a couple of loungers which came with a bottle of water and wifi for as long as we stayed we had are own snorkelling gear but you could hire them if you wanted to. Beach was a mixture of locals and tourists.

You could also walk up to California Lighthouse if you wanted to. In total cost around $15 , and the bus driver both ways was quite chatty and even did his own mini narration of the area.
