  1. Thank you for your post. We have a large group planning to go to LFK in October and very much wanted to hear from a post-fire visitor.

We have been to LFK many times and there is simply no other choice for us. We have always thoroughly enjoyed our visits. Most of our time is at the lagoon, especially with the kids.

We have never even looked for lockers and have experienced no theft or other issues. It is just relaxing and fun.

Please save the political commentary. My vacation, my choice, my money.

My BFF and I are booked for LFK in October as well!! We will be there on the 24th.

    Ditto on the political commentary.....

  2. NO beverage package includes drinks delivered to your room.

If you have the Deluxe package and order mimosas for breakfast with your room service, you will charged for them.

Packages cover drinks at bars and restaurants, NOT ROOM SERVICE.

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THEN BUT I DO NOW!! When it is your first cruise and pay for the package online it doesn't come with instructions. There was not a New to the Cruise briefing that explained how everything works on the ship.

While I can appreciate others have had different experiences and know the ropes better than others there is no need to be rude or snarky about it. The person who started this thread was interested in water and I was just trying to make some suggestions that might help out.

My next cruise is in October and one of my lessons learned from the first cruise was to make sure I had better access to water in my stateroom because that was a big problem for me. I also spent a lot of money on the Refreshment Package for two people only to look back now and realized we didn't even come close to breaking even. We used the soda cups about 90% of the time, no premium coffees, juices or non-alcoholic beverages. So for October I am buying the Royal Gift water package which will be delivered to my room and will purchase the soda package.

  3. You can have water delivered to your Stateroom through Crown and Ancor (see Royal Gifts) and save yourself a lot of money. 12 1 liter bottles is $45, 24 is $85. Cruise Planner also has a bottled water package. The Refreshment Package is only a good deal if you drink a lot of premium coffees, juices and virgin drinks. Even with that package bottled water can to hard to find and they would not deliver it to my room unless I paid for the water on top of the package. If you drink soda or want access to ice water the Soda package is a better option and cheaper than the Refreshment Package.

  4. When are you going on harmony? I'm going dec 9th and have a studio booked as well. Was hoping I might see your review... or on the cruise. Have a great trip

I don't go until March 29th. You will go before me so please do a review. Have a great trip!! Maybe we will end up on another one sometime :)

  5. The majority are oceanview although they do offer a few interior.

Besides Harmony, studio staterooms are available on all three Quantum class ships, Adventure, Brilliance, Jewel, Radiance, and Serenade. I'm personally booked in a studio interior on Adventure for my December cruise :)

I saw on a app that Harmony had solo cabins on deck 4 (103 sq ft, deck 4). I assume this was either a mistake or reserved for special people ?

I just booked a Studio cabin on the Harmony, it is on Deck 4. It is not a mistake :)

  6. Good advice. I just completed my first solo cruise. It happened to be with Viking Ocean but regardless, every evening in the MDR I was asked if I'd like to sit with others, which I did. However, on two evenings, there was no one seat available at a table for 4 or 6. So, very thoughtfully I thought, they placed me at a table for two but I naturally had tables for two on either side of me that afforded me conversations on both sides.

One situation I did run into was constantly being asked why I was alone whether in the MDR, theater, or shore excursions. Initially I told the truth: my traveling partner of 26 years died in December 2016. However, this made the questioner feel badly so, for the rest of the cruise I simply said I couldn't find anyone else to come along, which was also true.

I would imagine to some degree it was a difficult question to answer for you, I am so sorry for your loss. I honesty can't imagine asking anyone why they are alone. I just booked my first solo cruise for next March. I actually am going alone because I can't find anyone else to come along lol. That is better than twice divorced, ended a 5 year relationship last year and decided I am better off alone :p I admit I am still a little nervous about going alone but I am a very social person and I enjoy meeting new people. Reading the posts here make me feel a little more at ease :)

  7. I booked my first Solo Cruise on Harmony of the Seas, 9 Day Eastern Caribbean leaving 29 March 19. I am hoping to meet some people to meet up with on the ship and maybe to do some excursions. Also so hoping to find some dining companions, I don't like dining alone :)
