I buy them at 10% discount using Allstate rewards. Saves 10% on those cruise purchases and OBC.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear in what I was asking.  Why would you use egift cards to purchase cruise cash?

Cruise cash can only be used onboard and is non-refundable.  Physical and E cards can be used for everything Carnival, and if you put too many on your onboard account and don't settle up, they'll send you a new gift card for your balance.

Its considered 2 separate cruises, so unfortunately you have to check in to both.  Did you have them linked so that the crew on the first cruise knows you are doing B2B?

I'm assuming my PVP took care of that when we booked, but I'll email her and double check. Thanks!

Is everything in the system?  I didn't think Carnival carried over anything from one cruise to the next.

Have a B2B2B beginning in October, then a B2B in January.  Would be nice if at least the passport and emergency contact info carried over.

Just did a B2B on HAL in June and didn't have to check in for the 2nd leg at all.

    I'll let you know

I am still VERY confused which is making it difficult to jump into a booking that includes the Bahamas.

These cruise lines ( with the exception of RCL because they can't seem to get it together at all) are lifting vaccines but don't mention the vaccine requirement for the Bahamas.  This is on the Bahamas.com website:  Please note: All cruise ship passengers ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to enter a port in The Bahamas, including a cruise line’s private island. Any person who is ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccination due to medical contraindications is exempt from this requirement. If Carnival can sail to The Bahamas with unvaccinated, why can Royal Caribbean not?

Any of the cruise lines can sail to the Bahamas, Grand Caymen, or Grand Turk but nothing says you're getting off the ship when you're there if you aren't vaccinated.

Carnival says they reserve the right to test, but doesnt seem to be testing between b2b.

    No tests no worries right?

Unless you're like us: B2B  Canada/New England and Bermuda, both of which require special authorisations/apps  and Covid tests within a specific time frame.   Carnival still says no testing onboard.   I guess we do proctored tests when we arrive back in port, and pray.

Oh boy I think I messed up… I’m Leaving for a 3d from Long Beach to Ensenada next Friday. I applied for a passport cause I’m leaving to (6d cruise) Bermuda in Sept. But when I applied all I got was a copy of my birth cert with a stamp from the city and the original copy of my passport application stapled  together.

is this going to get me on the boat or do I need to go get another darn copy of my Birth cert?

    anyone have any experience?

Your  birth certificate (and any other paperwork you sent in) would come back separate from your passport.  You can check on the status of your passport here:   https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/status.html

However, the copy and your government ID should be enough to get you on the ship.

Make sure you let the people sitting next to you that you are platinum. Our last two cruises we stopped going to the MDR as each time we were seated next to couples that were platinums on multiple lines and made sure we knew it every 15 minutes.

Well.... maybe only for our first Platinum cruise. After that, I'm sure it will be old hat.

  8. My husband and I turn platinum this next cruise.  Because we aren't platinum technically until two days into the cruise, will we be able to choose check in times two days before everyone else?
Will our luggage have Priority tags?  Will we be able to drop our carry-ons off in our room?

I know these questions have been asked and answered, and I promise I did search back a couple of months, so sorry! sorry! sorry!

If you have a back to back cruise, add the days to get the higher amount. Two 7 day voyages btob gets you $250. Schweet!

How do you do this?  Do you know if I can choose which section of B2B to credit the OBC to?

    -Thanks!

  10. I just got off of the Spirit on Saturday. She's 3 weeks into a brand new crew. They are busy cleaning, wiping, repairing, learning to work together and keeping the guests happy.  Were there things wrong? Yes. Were there things right?  Definitely.  The food (with 3 exceptions) was very good.  Even the pizza was better than I remembered, and I am not a fan of Carnival pizza.  When all else fails, there's Guy's burgers, tacos or a room service BLT.
The room stewards are a little understaffed, and overworked.  Some of the dining room staff is new, and were still referring to notes on how to set the silverware.  We had a broken cabinet door in our cabin.
Drinks were great.  Best Bloody Mary I've had in ages.  The Serenity Deck wasn't crowded and it was quiet. Security took no ***** from a roaming pack of Little Lord of the Flies wannabes.

The Spirit is still a 20+ year old ship, but she's a favorite of mine.  She's peaceful.

I just have to ask if anyone finds the mini-fridges useful at all.

I have never found them to be anything more than luke-cool, in other words, not very suitable to chill anything. And I don’t think they have control options, do they??

To get them to cool beyond sortachill you have to leave the cabinet door open and pull the fridge out a couple of inches. Dangerous in the middle of the night, but with a little extra air circulation, they do work better.

Just educating people that don't know the "perk" is not all that it's cracked up to be.

I'm not Platinum til our next cruise and I'll never use the free laundry perk.  I paid for a bag a couple of years ago, and they ruined half of it.  I'll do my own laundry. Which means I won't be doing long sailings on the newer ships with no self laundry rooms.

Mongolian Wok, my wife's favorite. Still wanting to know if they use the ipad type for Bongo. In addition to the paper cards?

No, no i-pads for Bingo.  You can however spend $48 for a collectible dauber and a 9 card x 3 game sheet package.
