  1. We used it for our 2017 cruise.  I researched what flights I wanted with the carrier i wanted.  I called Carnival and told them what i wanted and they booked.  The price went down three times and i called each  time and was given the new price.  You can do this up until 60 days out without a charge.   Nice thing is you get to pay it out along with the cruise fare. And if there is delays or cancellations Carnival will do the rebooking for you.

On our last cruise on the Magic, we had purchased FTTF and were on the ship by about 11am. When we got to our cabin, it wasn't ready and our S&S cards were not in our mailbox. Our room steward came by and said we weren't on his priority list. We told him we could guarantee we had purchased FTTF. He let us put our luggage in the room and we went down to GS. I told the GS rep what had happened and asked if she could make sure our passenger records were correct (I was very nice, didn't ask for anything other than to just make sure it did show us as FTTF) which I assume they would have had to be since we got on the ship with the other FTTF passengers. She looked up our account, said it did indeed show us as FTTF, apologized profusely, and immediately said they were going to refund 100% of our FTTF purchase and we would still have all the benefits for the week. I was pretty floored that she just automatically issued us a refund, especially since I hadn't asked for anything and certainly didn't expect anything.

We immediately went back up to our cabin and by the time we got from GS to Deck 10, our cabin steward was standing in our cabin with our S&S cards and extra free water (above our free VIFP water). We thanked him and then went to lunch. When we returned later, the cabin was spotless and there were two plates of chocolate covered strawberries on the desk and a note that another $50 in OBC had been applied to our account for the inconvenience. We were amazed and quite impressed by this example of excellent customer service!

Great story! Our blue card cruise we had FTTF ship was late we had to wait until after 12 to get on went to cabin they were still cleaning.  No big deal we left carry ons and went on our way.  Later in the day we couldn't get the hub app to work so went to GS. very nice lady and very patient with us. After dinner went back to room and found champagne and strawberries for our inconvenience.  I was stunned as well. Carnival staff have been over the top great to us.

Why is it insane?  No one is forcing anyone to work on a Carnival ship. I talked to my cabin steward last week on my cruise and he said the increase in cabins he is now responsible for is not overwhelming. What he does have trouble with is getting priority/FTTF cabins ready on time, especially when boarding begins around 11 AM, which has been the case on all 3 cruises I have been on since February. The other thing he said, which I have heard directly from the Hotel Director at a Diamond special event, is Carnival is moving towards only servicing cabins once a day. That will obviously make their job easier.

Seems like they could push that boarding time back an hour. we sail out of Galveston and just recently got notice that they are leaving port an hour earlier, that definitely cant be helping the situation.

Why on gods green earth does someone need thier cabin cleaned 2 or 3 times a day.  We always tell our RS once a day and we let them pick the time.  I dont really care as long as I have clean towels and plenty of ice.

The more I read your comments, the more I think you don’t cruise very often on Carnival. You keep insisting that FTTF is quantity controlled, but the reality is otherwise. On three recent cruises I have been on (Miracle, Horizon, and Sunshine) and on two cruises on Magic last year, we were told cabins would not be available due to the number of D&Ps on the cruise. However. the FTTF waiting area had at least 30-40 people sitting there for all 5 of these cruises. In my opinion if they can’t have cabins ready due to the number of D&Ps on the cruise, they shouldn’t sell FTTF. Unfortunately the reality is they still sell FTTF on cruises with significant numbers of D&Ps. When Carnival can’t provide promised perks, it’s not fair to anyone (D&Ps and FTTF) who are expecting certain things based on their loyalty level or paying additional money for FTTF.

And just how did you know that they were all FTTF? Could they have been blue cards with a grand suite that had 5 people in it.  30 to 40 people could be just 10 cabins at the worst 20.  Im pretty sure there are way more D&P's than that.

heres my 2 cents worth. i think, they will get the fttf cabins ready before th p and d's . because the fttf people will go to gs to get a refund. that has happened before.

You just might be right on track here.  We book suites but also buy FTTF. I could definitely see carnival wanting to get a paid service finished before an earned perk.  not saying it is right but I see the logic of not wanting to issue a refund. I really Just want to put my carry ons up.  They can clean mine during muster for all I care.

  6. Log into Carnival website and go to your booking.  On the left hand side look for "MY TO DO LIST".  Below that you will see "VIEW CHECK IN SUMMARY FOR BOOKING" the words will be striked through. Just underneath that will be "REVIEW ONLINE CHECK IN". Click on that, it will take you to a new page.  On the right hand side of the screen you will see several choices with green check marks.  Choose "ONBOARD EXPENSES" and click on it. In the middle of the page you will see "CARD ENDING IN XXXX" to the right of that there will be and "EDIT" symbol. if you click on this you can review the info already put in. If you decide you want to change it. go back the screen that says "CARD ENDING IN XXXX".  Below the card info is a "DELETE THIS ACCOUNT" click on this and you will start over entering the new account information.  Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

  7. You will have a lot of time with your wait staff, typically two of them. We got to visit with them and learn about their country families, etc...

One of the wait staff touched our hearts and we gave her a substanal gratuity. We tipped all others well.

Might have been played but it gave us joy to possibly have made someone's life a little better.

  8. We went to this restaurant on the Horizon and it was absolutely amazing. The waitress reminded us that we each get two apps and an entree. She suggested getting different items and share. So glad we listened to her. The risdoto was excellent. Mama's Meatball was even better.  My wife had the chicken parm and it was very very good.

I've heard folks buying the AARP gift cards at 10% less then applying those to their trip - including Cheers. So that may be a "cheaper" way of doing it. But otherwise the only real difference is 10% more if you buy it onboard vs. ahead of time.

I use our Carnival Mastercard and get a 10‰ statement credit, plus points. Our upcoming cruise I had enough points for a $450 credit.

I have a cruise booked on Magic for 1/18/20 - Yes, almost a year out.  Does anyone know when they begin to offer FTTF?

We have a cruise booked for June 2020. About 4 weeks ago I was checking FTTF for all of my sailings and it was up online yet. About two days later it popped up. Happy to say I have it for all three cruises I have booked.

  11. For our cruises in Dec and Jun of 2020 I did a mock booking then called carnival and asked if FTTF was available. Both times they said yes so I immediately booked online and purchased both cruises. I was really surprised that the June 2020 cruise had it available so soon but I am really glad it was.

  12. I don't think you can online check in until you are 90 days out. once you are able to check in then you can print your documents.

I use Firefox so it always opens in an Adobe window.  I check it for accuracy and then save to my pc,phone, tablet. Then I print from Adobe and make my luggage tags with plastic sleaves and wire rings.  I bought those from Amazon and they will be going on thier fourth cruise in june.
