  1. Ahh, I understand now and I think (based on other responses as well as yours) that you have your suite questions answered. Sorry if I misunderstood your original question(s) and I was actually hoping you had heard something to indicate Carnival was increasing what few suite perks currently exist. :)

    No worries, I appreciate everyone's contributions! :D

  2. Perhaps you could rent her a scooter for the week to make it easier on her to get around the boat - we did that for our daughter when she was in a walking boot as walking back and forth on the boat would not have been comfortable was only $180 for the week and the scooter was by our room when we arrived and we left it there when we got off the boat

Excellent suggestion that I didn't realize was an option. Thank you!!

  3. We just booked our first suite. We were told the new perks are priority embarkation, priority debarkation, VIP check in, priority reservations at specialty restaurants, shore excursions and spa, two extra large bottles of water in your stateroom, and one bag of laundry. Since we are platinum we already get most of these perks. What we really like about suites is the large bathroom with double sinks and a whirlpool tub. And the big walk-in closet, and the big balcony. Can’t wait! Enjoy your suite!:D

Thanks so much! This was helpful info! Enjoy your suite as well!

  4. If you have a suite you get to board right after the diamonds and platinums but before the FTTF’s. It doesn’t give you the priority at the concierge desk/excursions. Also your room is not guaranteed to be ready when you board unless you board later after the cabins are opened.

We are booked in our first suite ever but I also purchased a FTTF pass so that once we get on board our room will be ready and we can get rid of our luggage. I didn’t see the point of getting priority boarding if we couldn’t go to our room to set stuff down.

A suite will also guarantee your first choice of dining times. I thought this was really great because I won’t book a cruise if I can’t have any time dining, but we booked last minute (for us anyway) and the only seating available was late seating which is awful for us....we typically are in line at 545 pm. I was put on the waitlist for anytime dining and the very next day when I got up in the morning we had already been moved into the anytime dining.

I think it also grants you a laundry privilege but not sure as I didn’t pay any attention to that since I wasn’t planning on utilizing it.

Gratuities are also a little higher in a suite.

Thank you for this post! This answered some of my questions! Debating the FTTF now.

  5. I guess I need to ask, what is the source of your speculation regarding "new" suite perks? If anything, Carnival has been reducing those perks in the last few years so I am curious what you have heard or read to indicate that is changing?

    Hi Joe,

I was informed there were somewhat "new" perks in the past few years. I've actually never been in a suite so it will all be new for me but I was trying to follow what someone was briefly mentioning. I don't really know what to expect. Apparently the gratuities went up over the past few years with these newer perks. I've heard someone mention an "enhanced turn down" services, bottled water, priority boarding and such. Someone below your comment answered my question about the priority boarding and concierge. I'm debating on whether I should purchase FTTF or not as I'm traveling with my mom who has had some issues with her knees and cannot do a ton of standing/walking. Thanks for any advice!

  6. Hello, scheduled to cruise this October on Carnival Ecstasy. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the new perks are for a suite room? Has anyone experienced what that includes? Also, I've seen mixed comments concerning if I would need to purchase "Faster to the Fun" to bypass lines at check in as well as the Concierge/excursion desk? Trying to figure out how to plan. PS, if this has already been asked and answered, please direct me to the link. New here! Thanks!!! clear.png?emoji-smile-1742
