I'm going to second above the bridge wings on Deck 14. Great spot. Bring a drink cause it's not next to any bar.

Does Royal offer this package any longer? Haven't heard a thing about it lately.
Probably not, only because I've never heard of it. What does/did it include?

Gidday all!
Just wondering what bookings are like regarding the Escape Room.
Is it usually fully booked ahead of boarding or have fellow cruisers here found there are spaces, and possibly specials available?
Thank you 😀

I've heard that some of the escape rooms allow booking through the cruise planner, but the two ships I've been on that had them didn't do bookings until embarkation day. You'll definitely want to book early, as by the 2nd day there were only two time slots available to us.
-
I don't think you'd be able to solve the room with just two people. The puzzles are pretty good, so more minds will help, but most importantly, several of the puzzles are designed to require co-operation with 3-4 people.
For instance, on the Independence there was a puzzle that required two people to sit in alcoves on the opposite sides of the room, and then a third person had to be in the middle to relay messages between them.
They will definitely fill up the remaining slots with other people, but we've always had fun working with other random people. -

My points show up as being redeemed according to anyone I have talked to. They won’t put them on my cruise planner so I can use them. How long ago did everyone have no problem spending their points after redeeming them. Was this recently?
Most recent cruise for us was January. We redeemed points in November and purchased excursions during the Black Friday sale with it
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
We've always redeemed our credits through the BOA website and they show up a couple of days later. Always months before we sail.
Maybe the addition of talking to a human adds a layer of complexity to the process that prevents these credits from appearing sooner.- 1

Hang outside of the Suite Lounge and wait for one of the Pinnacle members to walk out . . . you know they can break it!

JR is free until 10am every morning. We are on board now
Open until 10am ONLY on Sea Days during our sailing.
It was open until 9:30am during port days.
We missed this and were bummed one morning when we got there right at 9:30. Oh well, lesson learned.

We just did this excursion on Sept. 16th. We had a 2:39pm flight and I was a little nervous about making it to the airport in time, but there was nothing to be concerned about.
On boarding, they stated that they would absolutely have us to the airport by 1pm at the latest. We were actually there before 12:30.
As far as the tour, we thought it was great. I grew up in Louisiana, so for me, it was a nice nostalgic throwback. For my girlfriend, she had never seen alligators except for in zoos, so it was total novelty for her. The airboats went fast enough to create a strong breeze and cool you off in the hot sun, and you would have to hold onto your hat to make sure it didn't blow away.

Bob you are wrong, any “paid” upgrade is entitled to double points even if it’s $1.
To back up what Bob is saying; The RC agent I spoke with that upsold my booking to a Jr. Suite on 8/1 said that I would not be receiving double points because I upgraded at a reduced offer rate.
-
I was upsold yesterday from an Ocean Balcony to a Junior Suite. The agent I spoke with at Royal was very clear and precise in explaining what benefits we would receive and which ones we would not in comparison to Sky/Star level suites.
I happily took the upgrade because the larger bathroom and balcony were what I really wanted, and viewed the additional perks as lagniappe.
Sorry to hear they weren't clear with OP on their upsell, but sometimes the RC agents do get it right. Just wanted to share that perspective.

I'd suggest brining more research, proof, examples and actual cost comparisons between them before crapping all over one cruise line as if the others don't have similar issues or cost add-ons.

Looking for some feedback between Mayan Princess and Tabyana. I plan to book an excursion through Royal Caribbean to one of these spots. I know I can get cheaper prices by not using RC, but would rather book through them since it's our first time on the island and the girlfriend feels more comfortable booking through them . . . . soooooo.
Is the West Bay Beach from Tabyana to Mayan Princess resorts publicly accessable and walkable? Meaning if I chose the excursion to one of those, can I still walk the length between them on the beach and visit the other? Or will each resort on the beach have security saying I'm not allowed to walk through the sand there without a resort pass?
I'm leaning towards Mayan Princess, if only because that includes alcoholic drinks where Tabyana does not. BUT, I definitely want to visit the beach area at Tabyana and get close to the wall at the south side of the beach. Also, the pool at Mayan Princess looks pretty awesome.
So has anyone been to one or both and can speak on the quality of the food, drinks, overall experience, and general walkability of of the beach area between the two?

Hey HomeSchoolMama,
Sorry for digging up this old thread, but you state that you've done the airboat tour with FLL transfer more than once, and I have a specific question:
What time do you usually get to the airport on this excursion? The fine print says it's good for domestic flights that depart after 2:30pm. We have a flight at 2:39pm and want to make sure that we do, in fact, have enough time to get to our flight.
Thanks in advance for any info you might have!

Thanks for this review, it was enjoyable. And thanks for sharing something very personal in your story about why Cozumel was important to visit.
And thank you even more for telling me where to get my cruise t-shirts to represent Murica!

I was having trouble viewing different things since they changed the website. When I called, they said that the site didn't work well with an apple computer (Safari browser). Sure enough, signed on with another computer using a different browser and I could see stuff easier. Although, I still find their new site a bit more difficult to navigate. Maybe just not used to it yet. Just a thought. :)
Just a friendly FYI, you don't have to move to a whole different computer. You can install Chrome and it works fine. I use a mac 90% of the time, and don't have any browser related issues with the site, but I also use Chrome as my primary browser when using any Apple product.

I only see it if I go through the motions of making the final payment, but stopping before charging my credit card.
If you log in, on the page that has your booking confirmation number, and the days left til your cruise, directly above the link to "Plan Your Cruise" there's a link to "Pay Your Remaining Balance", click that and go through the motions and it should display the actual amount left without you having to actually charge it.

I'm just a meat and potatoes guy easy to please, but you want WHAT $$ for Johnny Rockets?
No disrespect, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but if you're complaining that $7.95 for someone to eat whatever they want from onion rings to hamburgers is too expensive, I have to assume that you haven't been out to eat on land recently, much less on the ocean. You can't even get out of a McDonald's drive-thru these days for $7.95 a person and feel satiated.
If you were in the MDR, couldn't you have asked for a different plate and told your server that you didn't care for what you received? I feel like a lot of the complaints I read on this board are easily solvable, could have been avoided by different choices, or are flat out unreasonable. I find it hard to believe that on a ship with 21 choices of where to eat that you were disappointed every single time.

Tacking on a clarification question here, hope you don't mind:
Does this mean that if you order room service breakfast, and want a mimosa with your breakfast, that your drink package would not apply to it and you would be charged the drink cost (in addition to any room service charges)?
Or is that you can't simply call up room service and ask them to bring you a daiquiri from the pool bar?
-
I don't know how you guys walk around with those things.
99% of the time it's just in the way.
But that 1% . . . oh boy!

I ended up purchasing the Deluxe Drink Package for our cruise in Sept on Allure of the Seas. It dropped the price to $45/pp a day. I had been following the package price since we booked, and I saved about $70 bucks for two people with the sale this weekend.
I also picked up the Atlantis Aquaventure excursion for 2. It had been $150 per person, but this weekend it has been $134.00. I'm aware of the Comfort Suites "trick", but I felt like it was a reasonable rate for something that we both really want to do, and it's our first ever excursion on our first ever stop, on our first ever cruise. So booking through RC saved my girlfriend a little anxiety. So the sale came through nicely in that regard.
If either go lower, I'll just cancel and rebook.

Keep it coming! And no, we are not tired of your adult drinks. I need inspiration myself sometimes!

I'm over here waiting for Hucifer's next post like I'm waiting for the next season of Game of Thrones...
:')
As long as we don't have to wait another year for this conclusion!

Thank you. I figured as much, but maybe I was hoping someone would tell me what I wanted to hear! Haha!
I'll find another plan.
Gold Card Suite Lunch in Chops on Independence of the Seas
in Royal Caribbean International

Grand Suite on Indy in Jan 19. We had Chops breakfast daily (including disembark day) and there was a reserved area in the Windjammer for suite guests for lunch. Lunch was not free at Chops.
