  1. totally untrue. In fact the Dawn might be the most casual ship we have ever sailed. Le Bristro is strict about the dress code and so is the aft dining room. We did see people turned away for wearing shorts and plain T Shirts but other than that, we saw almost everything.

We saw people in the Venetian dinning room with T shirts, shorts, even baseball hats. I was surprised because they were suppose to be smart casual.

  2. Reading this makes me look forward to my cruise even more. I have one question. What time does disembarking begin and if you do self disembarking can you be off the ship by 9:30? I am trying to schedule a car service to pick us up. DH does not like to drive in Boston. If he left me with the luggage while he went to park I may never see him again! LOL! We will save alot of anxiety and stress this way.

I had a car service pick us up at 9:30AM. We decided not to carry all our luggage off by ourselves. We tagged them with green tags, meaning we would disembark at 9:10AM. They actually called us to disembark at 9AM, and we found luggage, had the porter bring them outside, and our car service texted me that he was waiting for us. We were out of there with time to spare.

  3. We just got off the Dawn today, June 8th. We sailed on her in 2014. I thought everything was much improved. The food was very good, we ate at the Venetian, Aqua, O`Sheehans, Garden Café, Topsiders, Bimini Grill, La Cucina. No complaints at all. The service was very good, the shows were fun, and all the lounges were great. The wait on the last night at Venetian was unexpected, but it was worth the wait. We ate there 3 nights.

Enjoy the Dawn this year, because she won`t be here next year.

  4. I'm confused. When you win a bid, you don't pick up extra fee at sea perks, you stay with your original ones. Are you saying you originally picked the drink package as your perk?

Yes, we had already picked that perk when we made our reservations. No, we didn`t get any more once we got our bid.

  5. We had an interior room and bid $200pp for a balcony. We could have bid on an oceanview, but I didn`t consider that much of an upgrade, and with my luck, I would have gotten obstructed view. I figured out that even with our bid, we are paying $1000.00 leas than we would if we had reserved the balcony in the first place. Plus, we got the drink packages for me and my wife, so that will save us quite a bit. Happy bidding!

  6. We are taking the June 1st cruise, also. It is our second time on the Dawn. I won`t worry about the weather til later in the week. I don`t trust 10 day forecasts. The last time we went was in Aug of 2014. There was a tropical storm coming up the coast, and we only got one day in Bermuda. So, I`m looking forward to having 3 days. Also, we had some rough seas, and my daughter felt seasick, so we got some Dramamine at Guest services, and it worked great. We will bring some with us just in case.

  7. Check with your cell carrier. Mine is T Mobile, and once we get to Bermuda, I can use text and data for free, and make calls for 0.20 cents a minute, but only in Bermuda. On the ship, you can use the Norwegian iConcierge app to make calls and text. But you have to download it, then once on the ship put your phone in airplane mode, and connect to the ship`s wifi.
