  1. We did a similar cruise on the Freedom and had an outstanding time. Only difference is we hit St. Maarten  instead of St. Thomas.

San Juan is really a lot of fun with good restaurants to check out and historic sites. A big plus is you can take uber which is a lot cheaper than cabs. We did a food tour which was pretty cool. The food was not very adventurous but we had a good time. We did not hit a beach in San Juan, but will make that a must do if we ever get back.

Highlight excursion was on St. Lucia - catamaran down to Sourfries to do the mud baths along with a few other things. I'm not sure if RC is currently doing that excursion because there is a volcano there? We booked through a 3rd party and I'm sure that is still doable. The mud baths are something to experience for sure and sailing through the pitons is gorgeous.

Also had a great time on Barbados where we simply took a cab to Carlyle Bay and spent the day relaxing. You can swim out to okayish snorkeling from the beach if you are a good swimmer. Boats drop snorkelers off all day long here for snorkeling. Overall an amazing beach. We got lunch from a lady who was cooking on a few tables setup in a parking lot. A fish and some conch fritters If I remember correctly. Delicious.

    Wow. I'm jealous.

I generally have an aisle seat on an airplane. Unless I need overhead space, I don’t board with my assigned group because it doesn’t make sense for me to get comfortable in my seat only have to to get up when the window in the middle passengers arrive.

Everyone has an assigned seat, I never can understand why people ( in coach) are rushing past each other to get on the plane! It’s so much more comfortable to sit at the gate.

I have been putting off knee surgery, but now may take one of those miracle flights!

Only reason I could see is if they have only carry on bags and want to make sure there is still room left to stow their bag.

The only way I know about those wins are because we have a pretty large group on another social media site, and I've checked our Roll Call here too.

There are probably others who have bid (and possibly won) on our cruise.  About 5% of the people in our group bid.  If that's representative at all (and who knows if it is), then that would be about 100 bids for the Anthem sailing this coming week, with 2090 cabins on the ship.  We still have about 5 cabins waiting to see if they get their RoyalUp.  So, just over 50% of us who bid in our group have gotten their RoyalUp.  I think that's a pretty good success rate on our cruise.  ☺️

    Congrats on the win!

We bid on a few suites, but our sailing on Freedom shows no availability for suites, balconies, or ocean view so I didn't spend a lot of time worrying about it. Figure the chances of a winning bid are pretty slim.

My acceptance email for the GS was at 7:03 pm. There are 5 other RoyalUps that were accepted on our cruise so far, and those were received mid to late afternoon.

Is there a way to check how many bids have been accepted on a cruise? We just got the e-mail about making bids a few days ago so I'm guessing none have been accepted yet.

  5. Suggest taking a simple extension cord with a few plugs on the end as a fail safe if your main solution is confiscated. We took one and also had a non surge protected power strip that was confiscated. Briefly tried to show that it was labeled as not having surge protection but security was not interested in discussing.

Also had a usb hub to plug in the extension cord. Worked fine.
