You will truly enjoy travelling in style.

Indeed! I am a very early planner, and when it comes to cruising the excitement only builds. If I get too tired of waiting we just throw in a quick cruise at our home port. lol which is why they flood the list.

If you choose itinerary #1, at Skagway do the train trip.

This is definitely on my list, I am a huge train fan and never miss the opportunity to visit a train museum or ride. Definitely a huge vote for this itinerary, I had already told DM this was on my list when deciding to go. Did not know about the VIP option, you have me sold on that as well.

Greatly recommend the VIP version which is only one train car and has its own tour guide

  3. Thank you RB9643 for the reply. Two itineraries are currently available but the dates we are looking at are not up yet so unsure which we will take. Knowing about both itineraries would be beneficial in making the final decision since I get to choose.

  4. Planning a cruise to Alaska with DM and friends. Would live any feedback on the Haven experience on the two ships. Any must do excursions or personally planned adventures for a newbie at the ports of call (My first time in Alaska) would be greatly appreciated.

oh this is sort of news to me. I think I remember one food truck as I was leaving last time. Think I got a picture of it.

Yeah we have seen it set up multiple ways over the years. It was just tables with pop up tents with big containers with ice that had the treats displayed. I believe the truck may have been pushed back last time and you rested from a table under a pop up.  Hopefully it will be there when you go next week and in November

Are you talking about the food in Ocean Plaza?

Not sure. I am talking about when you are at the port, the ship and sign in are on your left. The garage and bag check in is on your right. About 100 feet straight ahead towards the waters edge pre covid there was a makeshift food area with vendors. You could purchase OJ breakfast sandwiches/burritos  coffee pastries and fresh fruit.

    Booking

I had a FCC (Future Cruise Credit) from Carnival that had $600 OBC (On Board Credit) attached to it. I believe the booking had to be made by the end of September for a cruise by the end of next year. Otherwise the FCC would still be good but I would lose the OBC.

    Saint Greg

my DM and I were in the same situation as I am sure many others were as well. Excited for our first cruise post COVId after all the cancellations and rebooking. I like ok forward to your updates as always. For those that are new, Saint Greg is my John Heald (Go to for all things Carnival). If by any chance you could let us know if they still have food available in the morning adjacent to check in, that would be great. We are sailing in November and flying in day of. Thanks for all you do Saint Greg and happy sailing

Actually lift and shift if you get cancelled is still allowed just not always feasible. My april 2021 rcl cruise got cancelled. I could have lifted and shifted it but I already had booked the b2b in my signature. Reluctantly I took the refund. Just too close together. I could have taken a 125% but I'd rather have fewer fcc as I said. Too confusing.

Since they announced pretesting, I stopped booking more cruises or wanting to book more.

I have been close to a b2b off by one day but that was canceled at the beginning of COVID. Sorry you had to cancel. I still hope to book a real b2b in the future. Happy Cruising

I think most can sympathize. I know I've been cancelled 3 times on 2 lines. You book a good price on carnival closer in because carnival seems to lower close in prices, and mine got cancelled 3 times. Took refunds all but once, one time I rebooked.

Imo if you are booked carnival also seems to not send you targeted vipf offers others are getting so it costs in more ways than one. Each of 4 times I rebooked with carnival the price was higher. And bothered my ta to move me multiple times to get that best cabin. I think hes about done in with changes and found a side job. I feel bad for tas too. It's been rough on all.

Yeah we all love cruising for sure. For me I will continue trying to rebook on one line or another in hopes that we can set sail again. I totally agree with the VIFP offers. I keep hoping for a nice offer when I need to rebook but alas the offers are just not there. Thanks and happy cruising!

They give $600 OBC for incentive to rebook but $300 for the shorter cruises. Your signature lists Panorama in June 2021 and Miracle in Nov. 2021. Not sure what cruise you were referring to that was cancelled.

Royal was allowing "lift and shift" to rebook at a later date with no price increase. I'll assume that was only early in the pandemic and now they give the 125%.

I remove the cruises that cancel as I prefer to only have the ones I actually sail. The poster said I should be happy I got $600. I was letting them know I did not. The lift and shift sounds interesting thanks for sharing that info. I have never sailed Royal but have always had it in my list. Thanks again and as always Happy Cruising!

  11. Not sure what you are referring to, perhaps another post. I did not get $600 OBC. I would prefer the 125%. I did not have “just enough” and had to pay the difference. No the OBC did not make up the difference. As I clearly stated I understand why they did what they did it is still frustrating when you have a cabin in mind and have to switch multiple times and pay the new price. There is nothing any of us can do about it. We all get to choose who we sail and when and if what the specific cruise line is offering in return for canceling is worth it. Should my cruise cancel again, I may book further out in hopes of a price that will not cost me more. Happy Cruising

  12. Carnival has canceled our cruise yet again. The OBC we had previously did not transfer it went away. Carnival gave us a new OBC and our money back in the form of FCC. What is frustrating is we have been canceled multiple times and find a good rate in a cruise for a certain cabin type. That is all out the window and you have to pay the new inflated prices for your next cruise. If the OBC was rolled over for being loyal to Carnival it would cost them way too much so I completely understand. I hope this will be the last time we have to rebook. Happy cruising!
