We just did it on the Breakaway last week. It's held in the buffet area. The kids loved choosing their own toppings. It was a nice event.

It may NOT be as free as one would think. I think that you will have to pay the port fees, government taxes and other expenses. You might also owe income tax on the value of the cruise certificate- gambling winnings are taxable.

Haha - yes I know. That's why I was hoping to hear from someone else who has also won the raffle.

And yes you do have to pay port fess & govt taxes.

You collect raffle tickets during the cruise at bingo/Deal or No Deal and the last day of the cruise at bingo they have the drawing.

We took the UBP and our kids received soda cards. They had their share of Shirley temples!

After several attempts, I was able to check all 6 of us in. I think their website must have been having some issues.

Has anyone been to GSC in the last year? Have they made any changes? Do they still have the big blow up slide - I don't see it listed as an excursion to book as it was in the past?

Our Gem waterslide experience varied. It depended who was on staff at the time. Sometimes they let my 4 year old on & sometimes they didn't. I would have preferred they took a firm stance because it was hard explaining to her sometimes she could go on & sometimes she couldn't.

Breaking news ice bar is free today just take your drink out side on the sail way its the biggest ice bar ever. Why pay when its free today.

Hahaha - my cousin said the same thing to us this past week on the CTN. She said she would just go out on the deck while we were inside & get the same affect - for free. :p I thoroughly enjoyed the drinks inside the ice bar.

You can make a reservation on the ship, it's $20 per person and the pricing includes 2 drinks and use of the parka and gloves.

 

No one under 18 is allowed in.

 

The ice bar is kept at 17 degrees and I lasted about 30 minutes last week wearing flip flops and I didn't think I would ever feel my toes again :)

We just took a CTN this past weekend on the Breakaway & there were kids in the ice bar. 2 of them - maybe 8 & 10 years old.

Does anyone know of a balcony cabin that would connect with a window? We are a family of 5 and like to book a balcony but looking to save some money on the second room since it's just for the kids to sleep.

The price has gone up since I booked a few months ago. I'm sure they will come down as it gets closer to sailing. Keep watching!
