  1. I am in DC. So here is the Washington Passport Agency that does it. I know it’s the capital….. but not sure if other major states have this, I would assume so. It’s this website https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies/washington.html

says you must be traveling in the next 14 days and have to make an appointment.

Works every time for us folks here in DC

  2. Ok she is fine. She can get a passport in 24 hours. Very easy. Depending on where you live? Tell her to buy a refundable international ticket. And then go in 48 hours (let me look up the exact office) and let them know she needs to travel in 48 hours, show proof of flight ticket, bring her expired passport and all other documents and pictures she needs and voila. She will have her passport in a matter of the day. Same day 95% of the time if you have all the documents ready and with you. My brother did it last month, my whole family does it usually too. When mine expires I will do the same. Because I travel a lot and can’t be there or hour a passport for 2 months.

  3. I don’t know what to say. My parents first cruise and ours as well and our children. Flying from  bwi to Miami. MSC 12 night cruise to the Caribbean. We are just devastated. Sitting at the airport right now because we decided to show up anyway for a miracle. A lot of north east flights were cancelled to Miami. Will the cruise wait a few hours or delay to another day if so many miss it? Do we get our money back for the cruise? We got insurance but not my parents.

  4. I called the website I booked with ($319) and asked for an upgrade, we looked up prices as I really wanted something better than the tiny interior and the French door cabin has a couch soooo it was $20 cheaper than my booking price, so funny. Of course I got it. I will keep checking, hopefully get a good balcony but don't really want to spend that much honestly.

A questions: Does the Cheers package ever go on 'sale'? Sorry, I haven't cruised in a few years and this is my first Carnival Legend on 2/20 to the Bahamas.

  5. I sound like the village idiot who doesn't know what is happening! But seriously, if I buy a cruise now under the new Buy with Peace or whatever they call it, where you can cancel before September I believe for a good price or cancel 48 prior and use the ticket as FCC. Is it smart money wise? Are the cruises the same price than before?

Sorry I am just confused, not sure if there is a benefit in getting a very good deal.

Thank you for answering in advance.

  6. As far as exchanging money, i ran out of CUC's and of Euro. And had a $50 bill on my in USD. I asked a taxi driver if he can exchange cash on the spot and he was so happy (they love the dollar) we did a quick calculations in our phone calculators and boom, I had CUC's in an instant. And i didn't have to pay the extra exchange rate fee for when you exchange from USD to CUC. By the way, I felt like i was getting ripped off when i paid with EURO while shopping, restaurants and taxis. Never again!!!!!! The best option is definitely use CUC's in Cuba.

We also went to Mojito the restaurant btw. It was SUPERB! and the Paladar Los Mercaderes! OH MY. The vibe, the music, the food, the coffee and the Rum! My highlight was this restaurant. Just 8 min walking from the ship.

  7. Please do not worry about being in the room to 'catch' your stewardess for the Cuba visas. The stewardess will clean your room twice a day. Morning and evening. Which means MOST OF THE DAY he/she will be on your floor so much that you will get tired of seeing them. lol. Sometimes I just wanted them to go away. lol And if you know they are about to come and have you sign for the visas, and you miss them, JUST CALL 99 (Guest services, and ask them to send the steward) Easy Peasy. Really NOTHING to worry about. They also know to come and find you before dinner even starts. And they start this process days before you arrive in Cuba.
