Hi,  Does anyone know if there is single sex steam or sauna available on NCL Jade?  Only sailed NCL once before years ago so not sure what they currently have

    thank you

If you go into the Men's restroom in the fitness center, there is a sauna, shower, and some lockers.  At least it was in 2011.   I assume that it hasn't changed.

This.  In reading through this thread, I'm told to go to the CN desk, call an 800 number, and to call the GM's secretary.  All, I'm sure, good ideas. None clearly stated on the website or in the welcome info in your cabin, or anywhere else AFAIK.

Please don't misunderstand: I appreciate many of the benefits I receive as Sapphire (you'll pry those strawberries from my cold dead hands!) but, let's be honest, some are "inflated":  Concierge is one, Internet discount (off the base rate, which nobody pays) is another.  And other benefits need to be updated, like the two free dinners, which may now be used anywhere.  Aside from this being a better/more flexible benefit than advertised, it's the most practical solution given the varying restaurants on the different ships.  I mean, who wants to read through footnotes to understand their benefit?

    Totally agree.

I will restate it again if you find it so nebulous.

The actual perk for non-haven guests, that need the assistance of a concierge, is provided by  the General Managers (HD) secretary.  Occasionally the HD will put you touch with the actual concierge and you will be treated the same as any Haven guest.   Personally I have received much better service from the secretary than I have from most concierges

Sounds good, but NCL should state that in their program  instead of relying on someone to share that on CC.

Yeah…the whole Latitudes Concierge perk has always been a bit nebulous.  I think if you’re expecting someone who is dedicated to Latitudes members, that’s not the case.  But, the Cruise Next desk has been identified as the place to go for concierge type services.  That desk is just very limited in what services they can provide to us.

Certainly isn’t anywhere near the level of service as the Concierges in the Haven provide.

I probably would never use the service anyway.  I don't plan of having them find special caviar. 😀  I think NCL should explain the perk better.  Maybe "Priority Assistance at CruiseNext Desk".

I found on my two recent cruises (Bliss and Prima) that the CruiseNext Desk was happy to get me entertainment reservations—even to “sold out” performances—as a Saphire latitudes member.  Also signed me up for dinner with officers, ship tour, etc.  Suggest going to CruiseNext desk after lunch on embarkation day.

Is the Cruise Next desk in the atrium next to Guest Services?  I'll be on the Joy, sister of the Bliss.

  6. One of the perks is Concierge service to assist in reservations.  Where is the concierge for the loyalty program if you are not in the Haven?  How do you contact the Dedicated Precruise Service Desk?   Priority Entrrtainment seating.  Is there a special line for loyalty members?

Pretty sure a passport is required for cruises that stop in Panama.

Since I posted this, I found the answer.  If flying into or out of Panama, a passport is needed.  If entering by Sea, a passport is required or a certified birth certificate with gov ID.

  8. If a cruise is closed looped, starting and ending in Miami, would a government ID and birth certificate suffice to board in Miami?   This cruise ports in Colon, but does not transit the Panama Canal.  The cruise line documentation concerning what's needed for certain countries says a passport is needed for a Panama Canal.   Many in my group ate taking this as Panama the country itself.

  9. I booked a 7 day cruise on the Sky.  It comes with a 2 Meal Dining Package.

If you go to buy a package,   it states it is for 2 people, hence a 2 meal specialty dining pkg is for 2 people for 2 meals and the cost reflects that.

Is the perk of the 2 meal dining pkg for 2 people for just 1 restaurant or 2 people at 2 restaurants?

  10. I decided to give MSC a try.  I sent MSC my status with another line and MSC classed me as Diamond.  I receivec my confirmation on a booked regular balcony room.  On page 3 by pax type, it has PROMO 1ST+CLUB+YOUNG.

    What does that mean?

  11. I've sailed most of the NCL ships, including the Getaway.  The daily paper will give the schedule and meeting place for the GLBT gathering each day.  It is hit or miss.  Some sailings will have many there and some don't.  The spa has separate men's and women's saunas and steams, but there is a fee.

  12. I am hoping for New Zealand! I am in the planning stages for. New Zealand cruise either on NCL or Princess. So many ships heading into the Australia NZ market makes competition interesting. With Carnival bringing in a ship for year round cruises out of Tampa I have to believe NCL will have to do the same so Carnival doesn't have a monopoly. They could shift the Jewel out of Australia to Tampa and move Bliss into Australia/ NZ. Well come January the Bliss reservations open....I am going to try for the crossing if it's a 10 to 11 day crossing unless I see a late in the year NZ cruise. Time will tell. Next week it's the Norwegian Jade....maybe I will find out some new nfo 🤓

I took a 14 day cruise from Sydney completely around the north and south islands of New Zealand on the RCCI Oasis of the Seas. My best cruise by far.

  13. For me it explained it in a nutshell, Asian tourists, especially Chinese are known for their rudeness and cutting line, I guess living in a place like Hong Kong explains it, so crowded you need to be aggressive or you would never get what you need it's a way of life so therefore they do not find it rude. Not racist just a fact of life

But who's not to say that this person is an American, born here and her ancestors born here.

  14. Racist comment.

What does being women who is Asian have anything to do with her going around you to grab a spoon?

It was rude of you to put an empty plate up in her face. Do that to the wrong person, and you might find yourself with a broken nose or worse.

I totally agree. People say that they aren't bigots, but when they describe people by race, skin color, etc, they are actually saying that they are better than that person. They don't realize that or maybe they do.
