  1. Since it has been a few years since we have cruised, what are the current dress codes for NCL?

We will be cruising to Alaska on the Pearl.

I thought one MDR was more dressy than the other but what exactly are the "dress codes"? What about for LeBistro? LaCucina?

  2. Whatever captain is on board in two weeks I am sure will get you to all your scheduled ports in a safe and timely manner.

I know that but since on our last cruise Richard Svardmark was the Staff Captain and we were lucky enough to have dinner with him, we were hoping to see him again. Especially now since he's a "Captain".

  3. Can you book these dinners online before your cruise? or do you have to wait until you're actually onboard to take advantage of Platinum Plus complimentary dining?

In your cabin on embarkation day, there will be a card with all the perks that you are entitled too. There is a coupon for 2 for a dinner in either Le Bistro or Cagney's with a bottle of wine and a coupon for 2 for a dinner in Moderno's or La Cuchina. Bring the coupons with you when you have your dinner and show them to the host/ess when you enter the restaurant. The dinners are per cabin not per person even if you both are Platinum Plus.
  4. If you don't want wine with your dinner, can you request the bottle to take with you back to your Suite?

You order an appetizer, entree, and dessert off the menu. We have ordered extra apps and never have been charged. See actual coupons below. Dinner at Cagney’s include a bottle of wine.

Also on embarkation day, sign up for the complimentary behind the scenes tour and officer’s dinner at the Cruise Next desk.

  5. Is this correct?

Since we are in a Haven Suite and also Platinum Plus, we would get 2 bottles of sparkling wine.

Also, for bottled water it showsthose in Haven Suites get 2 bottles of water per person and also Platinum Plus get 2 bottles of water per member -- so that would be a total of 8 bottles of water, correct?

  6. When we last cruised a few years ago on the Jewel, the main dining rooms had virtually the same menu with just a few exceptions. Is that still the case?

Does anyone have a sample menu they can post?

Also, I would love to see the room service menu -- does anyone have a copy they can post?

    Thanks!!!!

  7. The only couches are the small ones that are seen in the far left side of the picture. I didn't see any couches that would be conducive for a nap. :) Also, there are no bar stools at the bar. I didn't see any furniture in there that was previously there pre-refurb. Interesting to note as well that Bliss was used only for Karaoke at night and the DJ now plays at night in Spinnaker.

Great! Thanks for all the info. We'll be on the Pearl in a little over 6 weeks! Can't wait! Do you remember who the Captain was?

  8. The Spinnaker had new carpeting, upholstery and furniture. IMO, it looked great and appears much more classy/grown up than before. I noticed some of the white donut chairs were in the photo room and also card rooms between the main pool and the spa. Some of the other public areas seemed to have a mix of new carpeting, furniture, upholstery or all three.

Pic of Spinnaker included. Hope this works.

Thanks for the picture of Spinnaker Lounge on the Pearl. So there are no more of the couches in there that people used to nap on?

  9. I was in this cabin, 14512 last month. There is a sofa only in the living room, no side chairs. It was the best cabin and cruise of my life. Didn’t try the sofa bed, but the second bedroom sofa folded out nicely and I did lay on it for a whole minute to check it... lol

Anyhow it was great!! The whole cabin was great.

Best advice I can give you is to order meals in cabin or in the courtyard, no need to go to moderno for breakfast or lunch. I also found when the butler brought the food the quality was better, and it was much hotter/fresher. Also take tons of money for tips, they do earn it. I was out 700 in extra tips at the end of the cruise!

In looking at the video someone posted, I didn't notice a TV above the bathtub in the bathroom. Is it still there?

Also, just wondering -- who was your butler?
