Did anyone from this cruise test positive for covid after leaving the ship?
-
We are going to be on St. Martin/St. Maarten next week with a 14-yr-old and a 7-yr-old. Besides the beach, what else is there to do with kids? I've been searching for hours, but most the suggestions are beaches. Thanks!

Thanks, y'all!

Is it easy to get a taxi or Uber from the cruise port in Tampa to the airport, or are there better ways? Thanks!

This thread seems to offer a lot of suggestions:

I still wonder what happened to the other post, but thanks for pointing this one out. I did find what I need on it. :-D

in Cuba
What a sad attitude, to be scared of the world before you even know it.
There are thousands of posts online from people (Americans included) who have been going to Cuba for decades, including on the very mainstream Trip Advisor. It is a very popular destination with tourists from "the rest of the world" . Sorry you continue to be brainwashed by ancient Cold War propaganda and Miami grudge-holders, and choose to continue to espouse very outdated thinking.
Man, you are one confusing person. I have read some very informative posts from you, then some very condescending posts. :-P Yes, you may think it a sad attitude, but that is how it is for many humans--being afraid of the unknown. It's nothing new, friend. I travel a LOT. I was almost seriously hurt by some not nice people in a place where tourists and travelers go to daily. A well-traveled place is not exempt from danger. As a result of that experience, I am a little cautious when I go somewhere new until I've had time to gauge things. Also, I'm on the spectrum, and to be honest, anything out of my every day norm can be scary for me until I see for myself how things are. Don't make assumptions about people having sad attitudes (or lives) because they are different from you. I may be wired differently than you, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with either me nor my cautious nature. I happen to enjoy my life immensely--more so than most people I meet.

Okay, my head is killing me after 2 hours of searching with no luck. A week or so ago, I came across a post here that listed something like 10 or so private tour guides in Cuba, but I cannot find that post again for anything. Did it get removed, or does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thank you for taking the time to share! I hope your voice has fully recovered. I'm so excited! We leave in the morning for a few days in London before our May 25th cruise on this itinerary. I do understand that sometimes they can't make ports, but I am so hoping we make Orkney! That is the reason I picked this British Isles cruise over the other.
-
We r just finishing the British Isles cruise with Princess. We were so disappointed that due to some windy conditions we had to totally skip Kirkwall. None of the passengers understood why we couldn't have gotten tugboats in advance or used tenders. As far as excursions we had a taxi meeting us at the dock. I got the taxi email from the local tourist department. They only charge $40 per hour and will take u wherever u want to go. With places so old like Scara Brae and Ring of Brodgar we were so looking forward to the port.
Oh, man, I so hope that doesn't happen next week! We got a local tour and would be out a couple hundred dollars. Like you said, we are especially looking forward to that port.

Nevermind. Just found out no fridge or even blow dryer. Still hoping for at least an ice bucket. I guess Disney and RCCL have spoiled me. lol!

This time next week I will be sitting in my Mobile hotel room waiting for my cruise to begin!!!! It's going to be so hard to sleep that nite, I'll never get my eyes closed, to excited to sleep!!!!!
Are you going on the April 24th sailing? That's the one my sister, cousin, and I will be on. It will be my first Carnival cruise.
Are there refrigerators in the non-suite cabins? Are there at least ice buckets, if not?

We will be on the Indy for the T.A. 4-12-09. If anyone on this thread was on the last TA - would appreciate any information you want to share. In particular, if anyone saved any Compasses I would appreciate seeing any of those to help us plan group activities.
Sounds like a wonderful ship - we can hardly wait!! Great information on this thread - thanks for sharing. Mary
We'll be on the same cruise and I would also love to see any Compasses. How many formal nights are there? What was the entertainment like?
Thanks!

I am very allergic too. Places to avoid:
Thanks, Christie. That really does help.
We arent smokers either and cant stand the smell. :(Is there more smoking allowed on this ship as compared to others?
The Voyager was pretty smoky at times. On the Disney ships, there is very little smokiness. That's why the RCI ship was such a shock to me. lol!

We won a Disney cruise once. It was awesome!
I am a little worried about all the smokiness I am reading about since I am very allergic.

I was on it, and I did not test positive, but several people did when we tested the next day to fly home, including my husband. So we've been stuck in Panama. I'm just curious if anyone else had any issues. None of the 14 people quarantined here have symptoms. It just seems odd to test negative (antigen test) on the ship, and 48 hours later, be positive (PCR) unless they already had it on the ship? We did an outdoor walking tour of Panama City with masks, so it wasn't like it was a high risk excursion, or we didn't think so anyway. Lesson learned--while traveling during covid, a couple extra days of essentials isn't enough. You need an extra week's worth of undies and meds. 😆
