Haven't been here for a while. Must say we miss Kotor but Dubrovnik also. Visited for a few times and used Mont Travelers service and connection/recommendation for Dubrovnik Star Grad. In Kotor we did serpentines and Budva Old Town, scenic road photo stops and walking tours about 6 hours from the port. Dubrovnik was much easier to see but still need a car for some viewpoints and points of interests. At the end we had a wonderful two days easy booked and well done by the locals. Hope you will find this out useful. 

Hi guys, we already visited Bar with one of out NCL Mediterranean cruising but also have been in Kotor. Kotor is the pretty one but Bar is all nice and interesting to see especially if you have enough time to do scenic ride to Skadar Lake National Park for boating and maybe lunch. We had the vinery in the offer but we chose lunch instead. On the way we also visited Star Grad( Old Town) but if you compare it with Kotor it on the far second place indeed. Hope I can help with a suggestion for Kotor and some other ports but lets keep with the subject. We have visited Kotor port in Montenegro a few times in las few years and w have been lucky to meet local tour guide who I believe run the local travel company Mont Travelers Montenegro. (www.monttravelers.com) We did 3 tours(twice with the same guide) and happy with their service every time. Luckily, Montenegro is a small country so in just a few hours you are able to visit a third of the country. Last time we did Skadar Lake national park and wine tasting in a small family winery which was a great tour but for the first time I suggest to take 4-5 hours tour with a mountain roads and old town Budva and leave at least an hour to visit Kotor after the tour. There is more agencies like this one but I am sharing my experience here. Hope you will find this post useful and have fun. 

You can contact agencies in Dubrovnik and that recommendation is very good but if you want tour by locals, I suggest to check small family agencies like Mont Travelers, Montenegro Lifestyle or Visit-Kotor, etc.  My best experience was with www.monttravelers.com Anyway, I am happy to see someone is really optimistic about cruising 😇

Took the "Short Day Tour" with Dimitrije and Mont Travelers and it was one of the better tours I've been on. On-time pick-up at the hotel in Kotor, and from there we proceeded in his clean car up and down the coast, visiting some of the most gorgeous sights you've ever seen. What made the tour especially great was his personality, sense of humor, and the ease in which conversations flowed... it never seemed forced. He provided context and history (but not too much!), and interesting observations about the country and the beautiful area. It was great getting to know him... he loves what he does, and it shows. If I return to Montenegro, I will definitely contact him for arrangements.

I am so glad you mentioned Mont Travelers agency. We did a tour with Marko and that was one of the best tours we ever had. Marko was so friendly and he is so dedicated to what he is doing and he loves his country. We were so excited about visiting this small sunny country so he decides to add some extra photo stops which were with beautiful breathtaking landscapes. We really appreciated they work so I highly recommend this agency to everybody.

we did Dubrovnik - Kotor transfer by Dubrovnik Cruiser Taxi and everything was fine. The guide was funny and ready to stop wherever we wish to do photo shoots. The price was reasonably compering with other taxi agencies...
