exactly ! I saw people walking from the cruiseterminal with their suitcases to (probably) another destination than the airport.

Could you comment on how long the disembarkation took in Marghera?  We are to be at port at 0700 on October 18th to disembark.  HAL has now sent an email that we need to change our flight times till after noon to guarantee us they can get us to the airport in time.  It sounds like they shuttle us back to the Venice Cruise Terminal which is just 15 minutes away.  It’s going to take that long to get thru the disembarkation process?

  2. Get the Hopper App and put in the flight dates you want.  It’ll notify you when there’s a good price.  I also search on Expedia and Kayak.  For our May, 2020 flights to BCN from STL with connection thru CLT, we are paying ~$750 pp on AA.  That’s coach with no bells and whistles.  Our 2018 flights from STL to Rome we paid around $1000 pp on Delta.  For you, at an AA hub, I’d think you could score some cheap direct flight tickets; it’s just too far out.

  3. We’ve booked our first cruise for MSC for May 2020.  They are big in the Mediterranean.  Our in-laws took one of their Caribbean cruises and had a great time.  I can’t tell you anything first-hand; just what I’ve read on cruise critic.  “Follow” the thread on MSC and search their boards for specifics.  There are also a lot of you-tube videos you can watch with people doing reviews.

  4. Hello!  Looking at an excursion in Ibiza that leaves from San Antonio Beach.  Does anyone have experience getting there from the cruise port?  Are there taxis?  Uber?  It’s a Catamaran tour; great ratings, arrives back at 5 p.m. and our ship leaves port at 7 p.m.  Thoughts?  This is for an MSC Divinia cruise May 2020.  Thanks y’all.

  5. So, how much did it cost you to sign up for this service?

Is is it correct that one has to use the HAL Privileges travel service to book all travel.

It cost us $2000. Got a $500 card balance in return (which was part of the $2500 I mentioned) and the 2 free weeks. I book thru my travel agent which is [removed]. You dont have to use HAL. Th[ree money all goes onto a Discover prepaid card which the travel agent was happy to take and is reloadable.

  6. I just joined Cruise Critic to be able to give my review on this HAL privileges program. It was with much trepidation that we signed up in March 2017. We have successfully made it worth the while! Yes, the things you can purchase on line can be expensive. We've mostly just purchased cases of wine albeit the cheapest case is around $12 a bottle. Have used it mostly for hotel stays. Did have one stay at a Ft. Lauderdale hotel and got over half my money back in cruise points. We were able to accrue nearly $2500 in cruise points on the program so far. And I'm happy to report it went towards a cruise on HAL coming up this October. I provided my travel agent with my Holland America Privileges card number just last night, and the money was there. It cut our cruise price in half! We got 2 free week vacations; one was thru Vidanta and we went to Riviera Maya location. We had a fantastic time; my kids loved the resort. The second week we used in Mesa, AZ; went to spring training. Anyway, we plan on continuing with the program as we have typically several hotel stays throughout the year. So, if you travel a lot, and if you are like my husband and I, where our work reimburses our hotel stays when the trip is work-related, it's worth your while.:)
