  1. we flew our to Barbados in March for the TA back to Southampton and the drinks were free I didn't see them do more than 2 bar trolley runs but they had no problem with you bobbing to the galley for top ups or asking for 2 drinks at a time very good service for us with TUI

  2. We saw Bernie Flint on our TA from the Caribbean back to Southampton in March it was the highlight of the entertainment for me I remembered him from opportunity knocks and had a bit of a crush on him at the time so was super excited to see him watched both performances he was really good and really enjoyed his singing and patter very funny. When I look back I can see the attraction all those years ago he has a look of my now X husband??

He was really worth going to see if only for nostalgic reasons I would go again

  3. We have never had an issue freedom dining on all our cruises (well over 10) with       P & O we mix and match eating on our own or with other people never have we been served the wrong food or been on a table where this has happened, we use the MDR for breakfast and dinner.

On our recent cruise back from the Caribbean I can say sometimes our fellow diners have not always treated the waiters very nicely a lot of the time the only interaction was to give our what they wanted with very few smiles and thank you's. Smiles and asking how they are gets you beautiful smiles back and starts off the conversation with them they love you to be interested in their life and will happily ask you about yours I cannot fault the staff and the waiters they were as good as they always are.

  4. In Australia they have sniffer dogs, they sniffed out some custard creams we purchased in M & S in Hong Kong!!! They let us keep them though but did say most food is banned.

In Barbados we were behind a lady was stopped when going off ship told that she couldn't take off the food which was wrapped in cotton serviettes which turned out to be bacon & sausage butties for some friends staying in Barbados and they were meeting up.

She happily surrendered them saying she didn't know it was a problem and that her friends would be very disappointed as they were looking forward to English bacon & sausage - I can relate to that it's one of my P & O loves

  5. We both love a drink the final bill came in at 612 for 2 weeks Caribbean TA to Sampton. we had a trip on that at 97 for the 2 of us in Ponta Delegada the gratuities are not included in the 612 this is 36.78 for 2 of us we did get through 2L of gin in the cabin though drinking with large draft mixers as a night cap for which we purchased the soft drink package and this was included in the 612.

AI is not for us with P & O if it came down to 25.00 per night we would purchase and experiment a little with drinks unfortunately we do have to watch the pennies to be able to afford our holidays

  6. We did the re-positioning cruise on Azura, had an issue as already reported it was sorted to our satisfaction, a few years ago my partner forgot his dress shoes again they were very helpful the reception officer lent his shoes for the first formal night then arranged for a new pair of shoes from the store to be delivered to the room for the other formal nights - excellent service.

On the evenings we opted for a change from the 2 of us eating together and joined a larger table every night the conversation turned to Brexit!!!

Carpets a bit stained but cannot say I think she was shabby and worn, bed was comfy, room & bathroom was clean in all a good holiday and value for money

  7. thank you when we do it I am sure it will be at sea, we are happy how we are and have been for over 20 years but unfortunately we will be better off if we are married before we leave this world I know very cynical but unfortunately until laws give living together couples the same rights as married couples we see no choice

that said your photo is beautiful and everyone has a different life plan

thank you and hope I don't get slated for our unusual rationale for marriage

  8. Don't let the moans put you off, we have cruised many times with P & O always fly Caribbean cruises only had one complaint previously and that was the first cruise - we were happy this time when the issue was sorted it was just a bit of a struggle to get it sorted.

It won't stop us cruising, we have done a TA to NY with Cunard but don't compare P & O with them as they are not the same product but we are happy with both.

We won't do the TA back from the Caribbean again we were a little bored when the sun had gone in but that's not P & O's fault it's just not the right cruise for us we will stick with flying both ways and the jet lag when we get home, which was one of the nice things this time as no jet lag just a 5 hour trawl back to Manchester but it's each to his/her own

  9. We were on the recent TA and yes she is a little worn, carpets in the 2 cabins we were in had stains in fact the first cabin had an awful smell!!

Complaints again I agree the front line staff are very poor we had a stressful experience at embarkation we only booked a couple of weeks before sailing (can only do that once carer commitments are agreed and confirmed) so paid saver and have always been happy with the cabin we as we get what we pay for and sometimes lucky and upgraded. This time we were allocated a cabin at the back of the ship just before the suits no problem with that apart from the extra beds come out of the wall making it impossible for my partner with restricted movements to get in and out of bed these beds on the walls take 15 inches off the size of the cabin. We went straight to reception and to cut a long story short after numerous people making a pretence to deal with the problem, being told direct lies at 11.30pm (3.30am to me) they came and split the beds at my suggestion. Next morning back to reception and we came across Sunit excellent just what we expect from P & O within 20 minutes we were moved into our new cabin 3 from the front of the ship.

3 days later we had a visit from another officer who came to ask me to explain what the problems had been he listened and empathised then offered us a meal at one of the other venues - we went to the Epicurean and had a lovely night and I also noticed they removed the gratuities from our account.

I was still a bit miffed that the start of the cruise had been tarnished a little, we missed a planned trip to Oistins but just relieved that we could sleep in a cabin that didn't smell, we could have a double bed and my partner could sleep in it and move around the cabin safety. Well done Sunit.

  10. Evening all can any recent cruisers tell me what the entertainment has been and what is likely on our Azura TA next week we have done fly cruises for year but never a TA. We like all kinds of musical entertainment and are looking forward to our new experience.

    thanks

  11. We are doing a first a TA from Barbados after many fly Caribbean cruises, we are looking for some help in Ponta Delagada, we would like to do a trip to see pineapples growing but my OH is waiting for a knee replacement so is limited to how far he can walk can anyone suggest a tour? or tour operator? P & O's tour is £42 and says walking over rough terrine

  12. We are doing the fly sail back 8th March cruise, we have had a 18 month break  from cruising so cannot remember if drinks are included on the flight I know they are if you are in premium but not sure of economy.

On normal TUI flights to the Caribbean they are included but guessing as this is a P & O charter they are not

Also wondering if it's worth using an airport lounge?

  13. thank you miniyorkie I tried P & O last night but ended up on hold for 20 minutes so gave up, it must be away from the departure terminals as I cannot see all those people and luggage blocking the incoming traffic - will see if I get anymore info on here and may try P & O again later

Yes we are looking forward to this cruise like you a first for us although we have cruised the Caribbean many many times hoping for the hot weather to last as long as possible, we are on the 11.35 flight out of Manchester which is a later arrival than usual
